harvesting seeds from a Lamb's Ear plant

Lancaster, CA

I am confused on how to harvest seeds from my Lamb's Ear plants. They have and are still blooming. Are the seeds in the blue/purple flowers? or after the flowers have fell off. I have noticed in the last few days the bees are leaving them alone. Help

You have to wait until the bloom stalks turn a pale tan and dry-looking. The flowers will also feel dry and husky to the touch. The seeds are kind of deep down inside little compartments, so you have to pick, peel and shake 'em to get them to come out (or at least I did.) Last year I sat down one afternoon with a large bowl (it didn't need to be that big for al the seeds, but it made it easier to catch them all!) and harvested mine. I then left the bowl (it was glass) outside all afternoon to drive out any pesky critters. Took the bowl inside that night and bagged them up.

My gosh, Lamb's Ears are invading every corner of my flowerbed, lawn, every crack. They are nice accent plants but I really don't need that many.

Cutting the stalks off and tapping them on a cookie sheet rattles a lot of the seeds out.

Thanks so much for everyone info. I am new to this sight and have nothing but great things to say about it.
