Root, I don't know if that was meant to be funny or not, but I was just passing on information. One seed, if chewed, can kill a child or animal, and to me, that's worth passing along.
Thanks!!! Hole N Wall 2004
No Dale, that was not meant to be funny at all, just speaking from my experience, sorry if you misinterpreted it,I would say almost half of my plants are toxic if ingested,I just have never had a problem.
I have seen remarks on Kids(using that term loosely) taking Datura seeds to get high and injuring themselves, but they sould know better.
So I am sorry if I offended you,and please feel free to post any info on any of my threads. This does raise a good question of ,has there been instances of Castors killing children,I know none come to mind for me,I may do some surfing on this.
Root.
I agree if the kids are stupid enough well, that's too bad. But now doggies...they just pick things up if they are at all like mine. I was growing Lab labs and just made sure to cut off the seed pods. For I know I'd feel just terrible if I grew something for my pleasure and it killed my best buddy, Buttons. But I love the leaves! There is a rice plant in Plant Delights that is very interesting. I am trying to find a plant with large interesting leaves...any suggestions?
Dale
Dale,have you tried Papaya?
KC,Tahiti, of these United States, great job root!
Lush and plush all the way!!!
Any hula girls running around up thar???LOL!
Well that shouldn't be a problem, looks cozy and inviting to me!LOL!
HOW in the world do you overwinter those big ole brugs???
They go dormant in the basement.
RootDr, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Love your deck too.
Wow...I think a basement would be better to have than a greenhouse for keeping tropicals over the winter. I assume you decrease watering. Do you have to cut them all the way back in the spring or do the old stems leaf back out? (I had a brugmansia once but the leaves always yellowed and dropped no matter what I did and it never bloomed...I need all the advice I can get.) Real advice, based on experience like yours and other gardeners, is what I like!
I have one section of the basement set up with growlights,so they stay alive and growing,I do let some go dormant.
