Help!!!!!!!!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

My huge much beloved Medinilla magnifica is wilting!!! Drainage holes I had drilled in cachepot plugged up and pot had old water in it! Fear root rot! What to do - repot in new soil? Leave alone and pray? Cuttings not reliable from this plant - and no seeds yet! Help me save my baby!!!!

Here's a pic from when it was OK. To dark to take another one now.

I'm sure no expert, but from other threads I've read on DG, you might try removing it from the pot and just gently washing off the roots with fresh water. Then re-pot it in fresh dirt, and water with solution of H2O and H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). It's supposed to provide more oxygen to the roots, and maybe will perk it up again.

This is just MHO, but you might search the threads for using peroxide solution for overwatered wilted plants.

Hopefully, someone will come along with more experienced info. But maybe there's hope for a rescue! Best of luck!

We're getting a lot of water here, and waterlogging is driving me nuts this year. They just can't seem to finish draining before the next heavy rain sets in.
