I transplanted my blue porter weed into a larger pot two weeks ago because it was getting too big (I was happy). The past 3 days the leaves have been wilting, not drying out but they feel like a cooked noodle. I have had it since last September as a small plant. I used very good loose bedding soil. Same type of clay pot and same watering habits. Any ideas out there???
Need some help - Porter Weed
No ideas kipper but if you lose it - hope you don't but sudden wilt always makes me nervous! - I do have some rooted cuttings. Unfortunately whenever somethings suddenly wilts like that I think "virus!" and toss it in the can (sob!) Let us know what happens - never had this happen to pw before.
Kipper, IF you haven't already, try keeping the plant in a light shade for a few days to a week or so.
Although my porterweed is loving all that hot hot sun all day long, I think transplant shock needs special handling. Baby it for a while. Also, let those seeds sprout up and save them just in case you lose the big one.
Good Luck,
Molly
:^)))
Thanks diva and molly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I had to trim some of the longer limbs off because they had died. All my other plant are doing great but this morning I noticed that my red poterweed had some "limp" leaves. One good note is that I found a monarch caterpillar on my pinta. YEA!
