I have these in pots and they seem happy but are getting leggy. They are blooming so I hate to cut them off. I plan to plant them in the ground soon. What will they do here in Florida Zone 9b? Will they die down on their own and then come back next spring? Should I cut them back and then plant them in the ground? These "bulby" true preennials are new to me. The things I grew beofre this experimently just grew all year. Thei experiment has been fun and somewhat successful. I feel certain that next Spring when they come up on their own schedule etc. they will do much better. But for now, how should I care for the Mirabilis
Mirabillis Four O'Clocks
The best thing you can do is pinch them off. You'll be surprised how quickly they recover and set new blooms. You'll have bushier, sturdier plants if you pinch them back a good bit. I don't know what they'll do in your zone, just know they benefit from pinching. :)
