Still looking for an id on this one.....

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Definitely not the same, but it looked like someone in this thread was looking for a source for Royal Sunset. Didn't mean to confuse. Polly

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Yeah, Marc was trying to get rid of some hard-earned cash. We were contributing to that endeavor. I didn't see that source when I googled it - probably didnt' look far enough. :)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Bother, though fur sure I had found it today. It is NOT First Lady

!@#$ Inanda

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

The more pix I see of CP (David's origonal 'guess') the more I am convinced he is correct......but time will tell. I'm gonna have to wait and see it bloom in my garden first. :-)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

My goodness!!!!! Just finally got my computer up and running and the new house and feel like I can finally get on DG without feeling guilty that I have other jobs to be doing.

Moby - you stay clear of my old place -- at least until I'm done getting all my loot. LOL

I did buy Kiss Me Kate, Royal Sunset and a few other possibles last fall to compare to my unknown. Now if I can just get them all dug from the old place and moved then my research can proceed.

Marc - I've landed on that New Zealand site so many times when searching for lilies and I tell ya one of these days I'm gonna order from them -- they've got so many I'd love to have.

Now I'm off to read over 60 watched threads since I was last on DG a few weeks ago. Ugh.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

Hey Brenda....welcome back...we've missed you. Deb

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Deb!!!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

We've missed you too, Brenda! How goes the unpacking?

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Welcome back Brenda. Glad to hear you are at least pointed in the 'got that accomplished' direction!

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

langbr - I wondered where you had gone, as I have not seen your posts for a long time!! Did you move? What are you gonna do with all of your lilies???

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I'm planning to dig quite a bit of my old garden plants (and leave some for the new homeowners). The new home sits on just over 2 acres and my old house was on a 1/4 acre lot so............I've got lots of plants to buy even if I take everything from the old place which I won't. So far I see no signs of perennials at the new place (a handful of tulips and daffs are coming up in front), but there are TONS of shrubs.....the previous homeowner left excellent files on the home (appliances, etc) and one of the glorious discoveries was a map of the property and what shrubs were planted. I think I'm now the proud owner of something like 18 holly shrubs, 9 rhododendrons, 12 azaleas, some spirea and a handful of shrub roses. She had some very nice size beds laid out and borders installed along with a sprinkler system. I've got the excellent backbones of some very nice perennial beds that's for sure.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh, you lucky dog!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Wow Brenda! You are lucky!!!! I'm so happy for you, but jealous too!! I can't even imagine having 2 acres! lol

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Actually it's so big that I'm not even sure where to start!! The front faces East and the back West so I've got lots of sun to work with and very little shade. I think my new shade bed I put in at the old house last year will stay where it's at. :-(

On the bright side I have room for tons of lilies and daylilies!! :-D

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Congratulations, Brennie!!!! Sounds like you have your work cut out for ya!!! and so much doing all that work!!! I sure missed ya, but I was not here (dg) and didn't know you was gone, too!! Just got back from Az last night... and I sure was sick before that.....

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Welcome back Starr! Good to see ya again.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Mendy! I missed y'all very much!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Starr I hope you take it easy and get 100% again. Don't want to still be sick when the cold spring rains come.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Thank you! I am sure working on it and not smoking is bound to help me out in that dept... ;)

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

Just wondering if this has popped up at your old house yet?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I've got about 4 or 5 stalks up from around this one so I think it multiplied like crazy. I was there today and am debating on whether to try and lift the bulb with LOTS of soil and transplant it here at my new home. What do y'all think?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Yes, yes and yes Brenda. I've been moving lots of lilies this past week. Move away.

I've been thinking about you and hoping that you went back and did major digging.

Pot them up for the mo, if you haven't made new beds for them. I'm doing that to 32 clumps that I have to move now. Some pots are not large enough so am putting them into shopping bags with a fair amount of soil with them.

BTW, ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! of my orientals survived here, so will do some serious buying ASAP. Good info to PDB.
Ginny

Also, a buddy of mine bought ta ta S-- G-- last year so I'm going to baga scale or two.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Oooooo.....VERY good info Ginny!!! I'll head over there this weekend. Weather is suppose to be fabulous Sat. & Sun.

You did not get scales of Sun God, did you??? Oh my word!! Well now I can say I know someone who knows someone that has Sun God!! LOL

Very good info on hardiness on the Orientals indeed. Who da thought 2b was possible. Did you have to do some pretty serious mulching?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

RE Orientals. Yes, very serious mulching. A bag of leaves on top of them. Also, we had a ton of snow last winter. How nice to be able to say -last winter-. Didn't dare leave the pardelinum out though. Brought them in to fridge. They started sprouting so are a couple of feet high now and .... no buds. RATS.
and bother.

BTW, if you do end up putting lilium in shopping bags, keep them in the shade till replanting. You don't want roots to cook inside plastic. Am sure this is like telling Granny not to suck eggs but still.

My other triumph is that Lewisia made it.

Inanda

Haven't got the scales yet. But I will ......

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

I knew somebody was calling my name! S-- G--?? Good job, Ginny! You've got friends in all the right places! We'll have to compare our scales when we get them... I'm so excited about getting a baby! Can u tell? LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Haven't got my Sun God scales yet. However, a pot with 3!!!!!!!! Norths should be here next week. Only one I can remember is Angela North. Will have to wait till they arrive, to see who the other ones are.

Still have 15 bulbs in fridge and nowhere to plant them. Space all taken up with sib. iris I had to move .

Todays mini grouch. Ordered Dance Ballerina Dance and today substitution arrived instead.

Inanda off to water.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

bummer inanda,
well you can always send the leftovers down here to the vole eating capital of the world. LOL
debi & franklin

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I have an inkling that inanda will have nooooo leftovers.....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Left overs. Sometimes I do. Last year I dug up a really big patch of something quite unusual for our bulb sale -- and --- they were left over at the end. Nobody knew what they were. Can't remember the name of course. Too wet to go and look outside.

Seeing that every single (all of 3) of my orientals survived last year, I've just planted 10 more. Hee hee. Yum yum.

Ginny just about ready to place first lily order of the season
-are you listening Echoes & Dill Pickle. Order will go in this week. To SW.

Inanda

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

langbr I haven't read all the threads here, did you find aname on your lily?

just wondering, I got the whiteflowerfarm book today, and they had a lily in there called kiss me kate that looked like your lily.

kathy

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL Nope, not Kiss Me Kate.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

KathyAnn - thanks for your suggestion, but have ruled that one out some time ago.

Moby - got your email and Agrippa might be a possibility. Will check this year's blooms against it to see if it's a match or not.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Brenda,

Took your photo to NALS. Asked and asked all kinds of people, as well as comparing to show stems. Still no luck.

Just to let you know I tried.
