How often does everybody in the "Hot & Humid" South water their flower gardens? I'm trying to get a time-schedule down. I know the watering frequency depends on the amount of rainfall, but , if it were dry and hot out, how often do you venture out to the gardens, hose in hand?
TIA,

Hot & Humid Watering Schedule
I'm in South Louisiana, where it rains a lot and it's really really humid even when it doesn't . . . but I only think about watering when it hasn't rained for at least a week . . . that doesn't happen often.
I honestly think my plants would rather be a bit thirsty than get watered with city water.
Stuff in containers gets watered with harvested rainwater much more often.

For me, if we don't get a good rain within a weeks time, I water. Sometimes I put my finger into the soil right at the root of the plant. If the soil is moist, I don't tend to worry as much about it, even with the horrid heat and humidity we've had. The container plants are another story. Those get watered at least twice a day in this heat. When I do water, I run a sprinkler for 30 minutes minimum. When that part of the garden is saturated, I move to the next area.
