I thought I died and went to heaven!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

My suggestion: Lady in Red

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
You were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled,
It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love as I do tonight

changed the lines because I think this stanza matches everyone's feelings .... especially kell's.

I like that! Lady In Red. Or Scarlet.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I like both of those names, Lady in Red and Scarlet.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Lilypon! That is the name a few of us have been playing with. That and Tell-tale Heart. I wanted Susie French but Susie is being all modest. And we might have an even better brug around the corner to use her name on!

Liz suggested French Kiss and I think that is so funny. LOL!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

kell every since I posted it took my breath away, and seeing that color, that song is all I can think of. It seemed to match the plant, your singing, and everyone's feelings. It does take my breath away!!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

ummm Im getting such a kick out of this thread! lolol Im hoping secretly for a double yellow from Susie.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

LOL...French Kiss would certainly go well too, considering who the hybridizer is! But I don't think I can get Lady in Red out of my mind.

Auburn, WA(Zone 8b)

I like Lady in Red, too. French Kiss could be saved for the double red. :)
Thanks for the info on the VF-11 fertilizer. I found it in gallon size at Fred Meyer.

Midland, TX(Zone 8a)

Add my congrats to you and Susie, Kell. Suggestion for name:
SUSIE'S KELLBELL

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Wow! Congratulations on your's and Susie's beautiful creation. It is the most beautiful brug I've ever seen. It looks like it could be a culebra-aurea hybrid? It is nearly the color of some Sanguineas. Amazing!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I think it is just amazing. Any later photos, Kell?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

OK.. I am at Mom and Dads for fathers day, and the thing looks bright red! LIKE RED!!! On my monitor at home it looks redish, but not this red! Whats it like compared to a mater Kell??
OMG!! :o)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Tomatoes taste better Shelly. LOL!

Been wondering when you would come to this thread for your brug fix for the day.

I seldom check out this forum because I only grow a few brugs. This is drop dead gorgeous, Kell! Wow! It makes me wonder what the seedling I am growing is capable of. It just Y'd. I can only hope for something as stunning!

I've been up dancing around and doing that 'grow, grow, grow' dance for you from Oklahoma! Did you hear me screaming and yelling???? (DH thinks I have gone absolutely mad.....LOLOL...and I don't even care) Yes, yes, yes, & YES!!! You and Susie did such a great job! I'm so happy for both of you!!! Biel, Switzerland(Zone 7a)

Oh Kell!! Oh Susie!!!! Oh WOW!!!!! Monika showed me this one,and my heart stopped.Congrats to both breeder and grower.I am sure you were both well pleased to see this one and Susie, you got the magic touch!!!!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Every time that I get on the computer, I come back to look at this beauty! 'Scent so strong that I almost puked' isn't USUALLY a glowing recommendation, but I know what you mean. In an enclosed space, some scents are overpowering (like a lady in a elevator wearing a strong perfume). I LOVE the name 'Lady in Red' it really fits this gorgeous flower. I'm so happy for both of you, you've worked so hard for so long for something like this!
MORE PICTURES PLEASE!!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It has buds that are just emerging so I will have new pics soon! I kind of messed up the flowers that are on now though they still are going strong. We still have cool weather here.

We are still debating on the name. I think we have decided not to name it Lady in Red because this one is not truly red. It is the closest we have seen but still not there. We are hoping if we cross it with EP and RK we will get a real red one!! Though we will wait on a final decison I guess, until it flowers for Susie in her heat. It might just be real red there! LOL

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

The cover of the album wasn't a deep red.... ;)

I keep thinking about a name too. Maybe a number for now, until we see what else may come from the same cross. There may be a series. I think of 'Ruby' or maybe follow the current trend with babies and go with 'Apple' (ha). Susie may want to start a 'French' series. Whatever, it is just unbelievably beautiful.

Kell, I have to come back to this thread at least once or twice a day. The beauty of this brug is unbelievable. It has great class about it and deserves a wonderful name, but I think I would grow it for a while before chosing a name in case there are changes in it. You might even want to have some friends test it in different parts of the US as it may be different colors in different zones. Putting the name "red" on it might then be confusing to those people who might not be seeing red in their blooms. The only other thing I can say about this brug at this point is that it is absolutely awesome.

Whitewater, WI

I'm with ya, Shirley

It always is the first thread I go to....

What an enchanting brug, it's got us all mesmerized...lol
The idea of the different zones really makes the imagination wander, doesn't it?? lol

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I'll gladly volunteer my hot and humid saltly air gulf coast zone 8b to test it lol.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I'm with you Shirley. It is an outstanding color. But Kell needs to send it to Susie and Tracey to see how it does in their climates.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I know I would like to see Tracey get a shot at this one,I have seen her set up,Amazing what that girl does with Brugs!
Plus Tracey is close to my climate,I want to see how it reacts to Midwest heat and Humidity.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Me too ... have to peek in a couple times a day. I agree with Shirley and Liz ... see how it does in other climates before deciding on a name. It is one gorgeous brug!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I'd volunteer to grow it on the eastern side. LOL

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Imma just a prayin' it does well and it's easy to propagate ... unlike some of the red overseas ones!!!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I agree with Brugie! I'd like to grow some of it and check her out! :)
