I'm so mad! Lots of you have seen pics of my owl box....

The box has been a busy "motel" this year. First squirrles lived in it this winter. This spring our owls were back. Now recently we had a pair of flickers move into it.

Well this morning I heard this "screaming". I ran out and the grackles had attacked the flickers in the box. The flickers are gone and the grackles are happily sitting in it now and I can only assume they either ate the eggs or nestlings, whichever was in there :( I'm so mad and I feel so bad :(

Doggone it -- especially to lose a nest of Flickers! :( We're inundated with Grackles and European Starlings here, so I feel your pain.
