well, not really, but i noticed today 2 of the branches are bent and they have these "wart like things" on them. after peeling a couple of them off and squishing them, i noticed (after all the bug guts) that they had baby somethings in them.
some of them had already hatched out of there warts and had left tiny little holes.
what kind of a bug uses the actual plant to make a bubble to hatch their eggs in? The wart looking things were not made by the bug, they were actually part of the plant.
any ideas?
My coreopsis has warts
Sounds like some sort of gall. There are different insects that will do this... It seems to happen a lot on trees. I don't know what type it would be on a coreopsis plant.

Thanks for the link poppysue. definately a curiousity.
i wonder if cutting it back below the bubbles would help. the only bug ive seen on it is the kind that usually you see 2 or 3 end to end, and if it looks like youre going to touch them, they all move as one..ever seen those?
i enjoy watching them cuz they are so funny. they seem to do their own evasive kind of dance....all right, all at once....
