garden art and water fountains

Honor, MI(Zone 5b)

I am always looking for fun garden art for my gardens. Statues, sculptures, birdbaths, windchimes, stepping stones, ect. Also, I am looking for a nice garden water fountain----nothing too big, just to add a little water sound...Of course, without spending too much money! And something I can order online would be great----especially with gas prices as high as they are!!
Any suggestions?

I love "yart" (yard art) also. I recently added a solar fountain to my garden room. The solar ones are slightly more pricy than the electric ones, but I am limited on outdoor electrical outlets. The only bad thing (which I knew about before ordering) it that they only run when the sun shines on the solar panel. Mine also came with an AC adapter.

Now, let's try adding a photo.

If you look at the top of the pergola, you will see the solar panel. The cord is long enough that it can be placed 15 ft away from the fountain.

Can do something like this as well which is very easy to do.

Do they sell just a solar powered pump? I'd like to build a fountain from stone... but I would need a solar pump to run the water.

Poppysue, they do sell just the pumps. Look at this link http://www.solar-fountain.net/product_details.asp?cid=13&mid=56

Cool :-) I might have to try that. I have a huge piece of granite that was drilled out for a fountain but it's sorta big for my pond. It would be nice on it's own some place else in the yard.

I um, treasure hunted a gargoyle today from the curb. ;) I haven't decided what to do with it yet. LOL

Thanks, Nathalyn! I will check out these sites. I would love a solar powered fountain. We have a solar powered yard light and a solar powered outdoor shower (which I love!!) we are going to add solar panels to our house. I'm all for it.

What a find, Badseed!! When we lived in Kalamazoo we would "treasure hunt" the most fabulous things that peope would take out to the curb for pick-up. I once picked up the sweetest little wooden foot stool. The top opened up and it had the prettiest embroidered cushion on it. All that was wrong with it was one of the feet had to be glued back on and it needed a good cleaning. When we moved back home I took it to be appraised with some of my Grandmother's things. Turns out it's worth around $200.!!!!

Hik Sierrawoman, How does the solar light work for you/ I was considering getting one-but we are not deluged with a whole bunch of sunlight, I could really use one however. Any hints.?

Hello,
I was wondering where you got your outdoor shower? I would love one.

Thank you in advance,
for your input.

We actually got our sun shower through Mother Earth News four or five years ago. We only put it up (obviously) in the summer. My husband built a nice little 3-sided cedar shelter for it with the back opening to face the woods and stream for privacy. The back side has a gate hung on it for a little privacy, but it's still open to enjoy the great outdoors. We don't have any neighbors, so we don't have too worry too much! We also use one of those 5-gallon sun showers for when we go camping.
The yard light is great. Of course, it doesn't always charge up enough in the winter, so we sometimes have to use the regular outside light (it's motion activated which helps, too)but during the summer it's wonderful. And I feel like anything to help conserve energy is worth it. We set it about 1/2 way from the garage to the house. We got a rather expensive one though because we wanted one that would work well. There are less expensive ones available, but they aren't as bright and don't keep a charge as long. You can actually buy ones that look like track lighting and have several low-to-the-ground lights along a walkway. That's next on my list!!

I saw a solar pool shower just last week at Target in the garden section.
