Dravencat, it's just a quick shot I took of our new lawnmower for the toolshed forum. It's not quite as sexy as a sportscar, but we were enamored with it, nonetheless! ;)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I posted pics last night with no problem. I just tried to post a pic for Ursula and it wouldn't even take the post at all. They are my normal sized jpgs that I always make small.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

well, I just tried to up date my green house progress pictures, and again, I couldn't get them posted. tried yesterday several times, I got to post 2 pics and couldn't post the rest. I also tried several days ago, to have the same problems. going to post a picture here to see if it comes through.

well, the picture wouldn't go through, never know when I"m going to be able to post a picture. I've had this trouble for about 3 days now.

Dave, I may have some info on what is happening. I post most of my pictures from my computer at work, which has a very broad band internet connection. My computer at home connects via a normal telephone line. I have had no difficulty at all from work, but this morning, I am connected from home and tried to post a spider picture to a wildlife thread. The picture would not send until I reduced the size of the image. I tried twice and each time it took a long time, and eventually was refused. Something in the receiving mechanism is timing out and this is making it difficult to post for those who do not have a broad band connection that passes the image across before the time-out occurs.

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

kennedyh, do you know how to use "ping".
I would be interested in the TTL value you have and if you have time-out trouble.

I'm not able to post either. I just re-sized the photo to 800 x 600 but it wouldn't post.

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

I've tried every size, nothing.

Fayette, IA(Zone 4b)

Today is the first time I've experienced this - though I guess I haven't posted any photos for a few days. I'm getting the "document contains no data" message as soon as I try to preview a message with photo attached. I can preview the same message without the photo. If it's germane, I do have a broadband connection. Has anyone mentioned this - if I try to start a new thread, there is a Preview button, but no Send. In replying to an existing thread, both Preview and Send appear.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

MartyJo, don't know about what's causing the picture problem, but I do know the lack of a direct Send button on a new thread is intentional.

Was just able to post a GIF image in the pets forum on my first try, a file over 100kb in size. Can you tell from the member usage stats the connections on which they connect to DG? Is there a correlation between dial-up and these problems? I am on cable.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

I'm on cable and haven't been able to post a pic since the 18th - last week Tues. I had DS reduce the pic to under 600x800 and got one to post. Have had none post since and gave up trying on Sun.

I am putting in pics at re-size small to medium. Under 50k works usually hmmmm like the hort site, is this the future?47.4 k

We have semi-fast connection here, and I reduce my images to small jpgs. But I had a problem earlier. Then, I tried back and was able to post. So not sure what the problem is there. Just wanted to post this to help you trouble shoot. We are on DSL.

I'm on satellite, very fast, can't upload any pics. Will try again today (Wed).

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

I just tried again, it didn't work. Patience folks, Dave will figure this out for us.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes I do patient no complain because I know Dave will take care of this =O) so give him time to work on it.
Dave take it easy don't get so much stress whatever you can do best take your time.

Acton, CA(Zone 8b)

Rats... today is officially 7 days since something's been wrong with the photo uploading system.. .in nearly 60 attempts, I have gotten 3 photos through, and about 6 partial photos (I deleted those). Sigh. I guess this is one way of curing an addiction.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I was going to try to set up my store, I guess this wouldn't be a good time to do it since we can't load any pics LOL I couldn't even read some of the pages to get the info on how to set up a store. they took solong to load, and some never did load, thoughI have a real old computer. I see everybody seems to be having some problem or another. day before yesterday I was able to post 3 pictures. and then couldn't post any more. every once in a while I can post one or two.

Hmmmm might be related to packet loss especially when routed over bbnplanet.net node.
Anybody out there who has the upload problem with a little computer experience, not afraid of DOS commands and is willing to make a short experiment with me drop me an e-mail.

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

okay let's test JPG upload with my dial-up:

1. Original pic, 1632X2448, 100% quality, Size 1.6Meg = Fail
2. resize to fit 1280X768, 70% quality, Size 190KB = Fail
3. resize to fit 1024X768, unk quality, Size 54KB = Fail
4. resize to fit 800X600, unk quality, Size 37K = Pass second try

All tried 2 times, No. 2 resized with Irfanview, No. 3 and 4 resized with resizer Powertoy from Microsoft

I was finally able to load some last night. I'm not sure why it's a hit and miss situation. I noticed that the 2nd one I loaded went REAL slow, and I thought it was going to error out, but it didn't. Almost like the traffic was too thick. OR - kind of like my car - kind of puttering out (it's back at a DIFFERENT shop right now and I'm waiting to hear from them). Weird analogy, I know - but that's kind of what it reminded me of.......

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Was posting with no problem today, but right now I am getting the "document contains no data" error and time-out when posting to the pets forum. I reduced the file size, but still no luck. Just an FYI for timing.

Update: It went through after a couple of minutes' worth of tries.

Oh thank goodness - I thought it was just me!! I have been trying to get a plant id for days now and haven't been able to post . I thought it was my old pc - I had a new one ordered, so I figured I'd wait and post from it - but that didn't work either. Have we heard anything official about what the problem is and when it might be fixed?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Dave's alive and well and just got on after being gone a few days on vacation.....see comments here:
