I've always liked dandelions. Their little yellow flowers are very pretty and their fluffy white balls which disintegrate and float away have always charmed me. That is until I started trying to fix up my yard. The little critters are everywhere, large circles of leaves about 4 to 8 inches around with 1 to 10 per square foot. I've been pulling them all afternoon. There must be an easier way. I'd like to take some and put them together in a 'dandelion garden' and eliminate the rest from anywhere else. What do I do? Pulling them all up by the roots appears to be an impossible job. Cutting them off with the mower doesn't get rid of them. HELP!!!

Dandelions
From personal experience only. ok? Use a strong solution of glycoside like RoundUp or Finale' on the unwanted ones. The solution will have to be at least twice normal or it won't work because of the long tap roots. You may want or have to repeat it again in a week or so to totally kill them. Remember that the seeds have a very long life time so you will be going thru this for many years to come.
Thanks leaflady! That's not too encouraging - many year to come... But it's better than pulling them up. That's a never ending task. I can put the RoundUp on a spray bottle and have at it! What fun!! That's how I'll be spending my weekend. I think I should use that on those broad leaf weeds whose name I also don't know, but it should do the trick.
