Wow those things are huge!!! And I thought the apple snails that pet stores sell(water snails) were big. Good grief, if I saw something that big in my garden I dont know if Id run the other way, scream or get a really big jar.

SCOOTER, now you know the joys of living in Florida! I remember the great snail invasion and clean up. I also remember the invasion of the "walking fish" that can actually walk across dry land. As far as I know they are still there. People just don't know what they can unleash when they dump in this climate! I think if I had a child that wanted THAT thing for a pet, I would have him committed (LOL)

That thing is scary! And according to your link it took 10 years to irradicate them in one area. They can transmit menningitis. This is not the kind of "pet" I would want my children to have!

Garden snails are worse this year than I have ever seen them and that is just the small ones. With those monters we would have famine through out the land.
