Lily Lovers II

chrissy, That's one lovely lily.

I've gone a little crazy with my new camera and desperately need to do some sorting and organizing; but until I get that accomplished here are two pictures I'm sharing today.

debi_z: the trumpets are some white ones growing in my garden. You might have Regale. I really think the one in the lower right corner is just the light version of Black Dragon. Your pollen is so bright, only my Regale Album has that bright pollen.

llilyfan.....I'm glad you're having fun with your new camera! Keep having fun 'cuz the pictures are great!

Thanks for all the compliments. I haven't seen much of my garden this week. Spent the week at horsecamp helping 14 girls and 1 boy learn to ride.

Today as I took the wet and rainy morning tour I found my 'Silk Road is starting to open and Lady Alice has opened! These are supposed to be late July-Aug bloomers!

Here is Lady Alice

I've found most of the things in my gardens including the lilies are blooming 2-3 weeks earlier than usual. Not sure what I'll have left to bloom come Aug/Sept. LOL!

Okay, I'm just a beginner in Lilies--my main addictions are Iris & daylilies. Lilyfan, Iowaron & Anahi treated me to private tours of 5 gardens with intense lily blooms & I'm hooked! Time to dig up my duplicates & make some room for MORE.
Here are my pinks--I have TONS if anyopne wishes to trade...

Wanda, I don't have anything (yet) to tempt you with, but since my husband is Italian, I would love to have Italia. I'll keep hunting until I have something to trade with you for that one, so please keep a bit of a trader of that one if you don't mind. (Please?)

Wow, what a lot of beautiful pictures!! Now a question - anyone have any ideas why my Marco Polo oriental lily is doing this? It has never done it before and the other 2 are not doing it. This one does get a bit more shade than the other too and we have had plenty of rain this year. Experts, please have a look and share some advice!! TY TY TY

Debi-z the flowers around the white lily are butterfly blue delphiniums(supposed to be dwarf...Not!) and the pink is the fairy rose that blooms all season. Love that italia! Where did you get it?
Kooger...I really think it's because of all the rain we've gotton..My lilies have the same problem, along with the iris.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

I'm not surprised, another lily just started doing the same thing with the bottom leaves. grrrrrr! Can you believe it, another close to 2" again yesterday? It's beginning to look like the south around here, or merry England! If the heat hits, like they say, the end of this week, you can literally hear the corn growing. I'm not kidding, if you stand quietly by a field for a while, and it's hot and muggy, like after all this rain, you can hear the corn stalks pop as they grow. Isn't that amazing!?!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

annahi,
i got them at breck's, last fall, when i got a $20 free coupon with there catalogue.
http://brecks.com/product.asp?pn=67369

i'm growing some delphinium from some seeds i got as extras in a swap. don't know much about them except they are blue, so i'll have to plant them around some liliums. :-D

those roses are so pretty. i have a rambling vine called a 'cape cod rambler'. the flowers remind me of your fairy rose, so dainty and pretty in pink, and only 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches wide.

kooger, that is amazing about the corn. gosh god makes good stuff huh?
hang in there with the liliums. some of my tips have browned like those. not to worry about. i had borytis last year and i don't see that it is that in these pictures. here is a picture of the beginnings on one of my asiatics, last year. it starts with small brown or gray spots and spreads rapidly over the plant and others near it. it spreads by the air. if you see this start a spray regimen immediately if not sooner. :-)

Yuck, that does look icky! Mine really don't have those spots, so probably it is all this wet weather. The bottom leaves just start turning yellow and a few are falling off. We're supposed to have sun from today on for awhile so maybe it'll stop- sure hope so!

heber springs, AR(Zone 7b)

does anyone have asian lillies for sale? i want mixed colors, possibly as many as 300 if the price is right. email me at jim_henard2003@yahoo.com

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Jim-

I'll be hosting a lilium coop in about a month. Watch the Coop Forum for details. The bulbs will be from The Lily Garden (you can find a thread in the Coop Forum on the ones offered in the Spring Lily coop). Might give you some ideas on what you are looking for.

Also, I'm not a DG policy expert, but I know that the Acceptable Use Policy details that this site cannot be used to "create business opportunities". Normally folks post in the forums plants they are looking to trade or pay postage for. Advertising items for "sale" is not allowed. Check out the Acceptable Use Policy below (specially item #7).

girl, ya need friends all right - gotta teach you to read - it's #8!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Ok...everything I posted after 10:30 last night has a goof of some kind. Think I better go to bed early tonight!! LOL! I originally had #6, then changed to #8 and ended up at #7. Sheesh!!! Can you say R-E-A-D, Brenda? Thanks, Laura!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

those connections between the fingers and brain can be extremely delicate things... I had a post all typed about that lily you thot was Rosepoint Lace and it didn't look quite like mine and I went to the top of the thread and looked at the Lily Garden website, went back to finish the post and don't ask me what I clicked on and it didn't go POOF by itself either, I did it myself... gr-r-r-r-r-r-r!! I was too lazy to type it again - had forgotten the name by then, haha!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I hear ya Laura. I'll be up way too late some nights on here. I get up in the morning and I've got a post half-typed out and unsent and wonder "Did I do that?" I must have walked to bed in my sleep!!

Edited to add:
I caution everyone to take what I post at post-midnight times with a grain of salt. Who knows what I'm rambling about in the wee hours of the morn. LOL!
