My 'Margaret Merril' rose has been having some kind of disease or pest of some sort that is infecting it's flowers. None of the other roses have had serious problems. Any help in determining the problem, and finding a solution would be appreciated. I've also posted this on the Rose forum and the Garden Foes forum.

Rose Problem
Paul, that looks like it might be damage from thrips, tiny cigar-shaped insects which hide way down in the blooms.

Thanks, gardenwife, I think you're right. I found some small insects on the flowers, and took one inside and looked at it under a microscope. It looked just like some photos of thrips I saw on the internet. Thanks again.
Woo, hooo...Look at you, with a microscope! You're prepared for just about anything! :)
