waiting for the frost to leave

East Barre, VT(Zone 4a)

Well, I've hung up my skis for the winter and I'm waiting for the frost to go so I can get started. Crocuses and daffs are up and many perrenials are beginning to show their foliage. Any other northern gardeners out there going crazy?

I am. The weather has been yucky. We just got over a 4 day stretch of rain.... and it's been dang cold! I'm ready for warmth!

Hey, tell your weatherman to warm it up a little! We're going to Boston to visit my niece and some friends in two weeks, and all this talk of frost is making me shiver, LOL.

We're such wimps in CA, we think we're freezing when the temps drop below 50 degrees (and to think I grew up in Chicago, but that was long ago).

Well, the weathermen say it'll be in the high 60s to low 70s this weekend. At least I can get out and rake and clean up the beds from last fall. Maybe I can even sift one of my compost piles to get it ready for planting. Still too early to get in the gardens, but geez, I haven't even started seeds yet. Boy am I ever far behind!

PoppySue: Are you supposed to get the splendid weather in maine, too?

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)
