Uber Gardeners??!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I just realized since I posted the number of gardeners who have contributed to the PDB less than a week ago, nearly 100 more have shared something with us. I'm not talking about new members signing up (we get a couple hundred every day), but the number of people who have contributed to the PDB for the first time. The count shown on the PDB homepage stands at 5,381 (vs. 5,284 on 4/18.) That's pretty amazing growth ;o)

What has become of the Ü with the two dots over the umlaut?

I have only just discovered this thread, and would like to express my thanks for the Uber accolade.

I would also like to add my vote for Terry accepting the Uber title herself.

FYI...

umlaut - A change in a vowel sound caused by partial assimilation especially to a vowel or semivowel occurring in the following syllable.

The umlaut is still present - click on the "uber" under the username, and you'll see it. (That's where it's always been ;o)

Hurrah!
But why doesn't it show up here?
TC, Webster neglected to add that an 'e' after the vowel in lieu of the dots above it serves the same purpose. I.e. Alstroemeria.

Ok now we know what it is. How do you become a UBER. What is the criteria to become one? How many photos, plants, comments and such as that and who determines this?

Dee, we do plan to periodically reevaluate the contributions of everyone and add more UBER's to the list. Thinking outloud here, it'd be nice to review on a quarterly basis, so I'm thinking that probably around the end of June, or 10 weeks past the first analysis will be a good time to do the next one, then plan on doing it every three months after that...

I just saw this thread and would like to say "thank you" to you guys for the UBER designation. By the way, the lettering in the term is very nice. To my fellow UBERS: thank you for your contributions and knowlege from which I have gained so much. You were my inspiration when I first became a member.
To those who have not become UBERS yet, but have contributed a lot: thank you and keep up the good work ... I have learned so much from you as well and experienced such pleasure viewing your photos. To anyone who has contributed even one photo, comment, question, checked off one plant detail, etc.: thank you because you have made valuable contributions which have added to the usefulness of this site and I have learned from you and enjoyed your photos as well.
