Ursula's Garden Angel seed program - #2

Ursula has sent another package from Chile, stocked with all kinds of interesting (and rare) new seeds to try.

I'm interested!

I should add: anything you add beyond the $5 is up to you - you can add as much or as little as you wish.

So is it $5.00 to get started, then a donation for bonus seeds and do we need to specify which bonus seeds we'd like in this thread or via. email?

The bonus seeds are randomly drawn out so you can't specify which ones you want.

sheran.

That's twenty! (Sorry, Sheran, unfortunately I have only exactly 20 packages to send out so I can't take any more than that. If anyone steps out at the last minute (unlikely...) then I'll include you. Otherwise, wait a while as I am sure Ursula will want to do this again (maybe!)

Everyone else - look for an email from me with instructions soon!

dave

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Dave, if Sheran agrees, I will prepare an assortment and mail it direclty to her. Only that maybe I cannot compile the same assortment, but would replace them with other chilean native species. She would mail you the contribution for the GAF.

OK Sheran?

OK Dave?

Sounds fine to me, Ursula. I'll be happy to let you know when it is received. I'll send her an email with the particulars.

dave

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Thank you very much to all participants. Your contributions will help to pay one year memberships for people that cannot afford them, or for foreign members that are charged too much for the purchase of a USD 15 dollar check (sometimes 3 to 4 times that value!).

Therefore, I kindly ask you to donate as much as you can - you will be rewarded with great bonus-seeds and Dave's Garden will not loose dear subscribers/valious people for a matter of money.

Please read the following link

http://davesgarden.com/t/419545/

and help me convince Dave to have a Garden Angel Fund forum where everybody can contribute with ideas to raise funds.

I am already saving money for the fabulous quilt that is being made by some lovely ladies from our community.

God bless your hearts and your gardens!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

Ursula, I just wanted you to know that part of this Garden Angel project for me is that I am sharing the seeds that I get with my garden mentor who spent her childhood in Chile. I offered to pay for membership to DG but she isn't online at the moment. I showed her a list of the seeds and she is so excited. Thank you for this.
Michelle

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

That's great, Michelle! Thank you for sharing your seeds with this lady. Would be nice to meet her on-line.

Have fun growing your seeds and thanks for participating!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

AccccccccccKKK!!!! Missed another one, I'll be glad when I'm done with all the co-op stuff!!

"eyes"

smithton, MO(Zone 5a)

geeze.....this always happens...i couldnt get this up this morning....oh well....maybe there will be some to share in the fall?...:)

cindy

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Cindy, sorry you missed this. In fact it is Fall for us in the southern hemisphere now. I'm afraid I do not have enough seeds left for a third round.

This is one of the reasons I'm asking for support to encourage Dave to let us have a special GARDEN ANGEL FUND FORUM where these kind of offers would be posted.

If my arthrosis gives me a brake and allows me to make my field-trips (incuding the Andes Mountains) to collect seeds next year, I would announce in time when I dispatch the seeds to Dave (they took 2 or more weeks to get there via airmail!) so everybody interested keeps an eye on the GAF forum.

In the meantime I wish you a HAPPY SPRING and remember that you can contribute to the GAF anytime you have a few extra dollars. Just mail them to Dave, indicating they are a donation to the GAF.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Ursula, I have a photo that I will send later of a plant from seeds you sent to me last fall.

Linda

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Eyes - There will be lots of us with seeds from these in the next couple of years. I'll be saving mine and you can get some from me.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I did a google search on Santiago, and found a weather map. I typed in exactly 6 months ago (Sept 27, 2003) and found their weather exactly like mine. I am wondering what zone Ursula would be in, compared to U.S. hardiness zones.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Dave did u get my check ?
