I have this great little plant that I just got.It is growing like crazy and blooming but it is also sending out what I think would be runners if it were planted in the ground, I want to grow it in a pot. I have the pot atop a brick so nothing is rubbing but should I just let these runners go or clip them off?
Thanks!
Viola Hederacea 'Tasmanian Violet"
How big is the pot? They grow out of our pots in search of places to root more, the bigger the plant is the more strength it has to quest. If you clip the stolons off, they will grow others so it's up to you.
If you get cold winters, even for a short snap, you might want to keep a few stolons under cover because it's not terribly hardy.

Thank you both. It is in a 5" pot. Maybe I will try to plant some of the out growth to fill the pot and then some! I have it sitting up so the "pups" don't drag on the ground. I wonder what they are like in a hanging basket? It the "pups" get "pups?" I would think these would sap the zest from the main plant. I shall experiment!
