Please help with Peony diseases?

Over in the brand new "Peony" Forum http://davesgarden.com/f/paeonia/ we're looking for some help with Peony diseases. Last year some of the stems of my Peonies began to turn black and wilt. The flowers were fine - maybe one or two out of dozens of buds dried up. Another said the buds on her Tree Peony withered and dried up before they could bloom.
