Finally got to play in the real dirt, got my hands (and my knees) dirty! Started some onion plants today between showers. Hope they didn't get washed out this evening, man did it come down! Anyone else get rain like this? I have never seen it rain as hard as it does here in KY, it blows my mind!
It's Started!
Oh, will ya look at that? You've been busy, Red!
This was just a sprinkle...you ain't seen nuttin yet. This next two months will be full of thunderstorms...and some pretty bad ones. The rain comes down in curtains...or sideways.
Mel calls 'em toad stranglers, LOL!
Dang it! I tilled yesterday, Red, hoping to get my onions planted and some peas thrown out this morning. Woke up to RAIN!
It didn't last long tho (1/4 inch) and this afternoon the wind blew like crazy so hopefully it'll dry the ground out fast.
Your ground looks rich! Wide areas between the onion rows...gonna plant something in between or just leave room to walk/work in there?
I planted them wide so I could get my tractor and cultivator between the rows, saves a lot of work and for the first time I have plenty of room!
Hope it drys out soon, got my 'tators cut and healing, ready to plant.
