I Want to start an "International Dave's Garden"

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I've received many types of seeds, and have kept track of all who sent them to me and where they came from.

The new garden I'm starting in the back is part shade, part sun - with intermixes. Tomorrow I'll draw it out (the shape) and scan it.

I want to include a little bit of all I can (in that environment) that my friends from Dave have shared with me.

So far I have, that I think will work:

South - Cannas, Daturas, Milkweed
North - Pink Turtlehead
East - Daylilies, Morning Glory, Four O'Clocks
West -
Europe - Telima

Already there: Columbine, Lupins, Bleeding Heart, Tulips, Hostas, Bee Balm

Also have on hand that might work to help fill in for now: Hostas, Tulips, Black Eyed Susan, Purple Cone Flower,

So what do you think about having a garden from mostly your DG seeds? After I post the shape, many of us could put our two cents in for how you'd arrange it with what I have to work with. I will also include the sun dial.

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

Karrie - GREAT idea. I am probably losing my garden due to a move, but I do know that I have more things from DG people than purchases. I look forward to pictures of your garden! :)

Ok - here it is. It is hand drawn, and I am by no means an artist. Keep in mind that on the top it is raised by a retaining wall over the neighbors. On the top left they have a lilac bush that hangs over, and on the top mid-right they have a large Maple Tree that hangs over. We prune our side quite a bit, to allow more light into the yard. My goal is to create a garden like shield so that I don't have to view their yard. They have lots of dogs and neither keep up their yard or clean up after their dogs. I want a nice pretty atmosphere that we can relax in and enjoy on summer evenings.
