I'm looking for a way to keep me posted on Spring arrival!
So I thought I'd ask for your guys help!
If you see the Robins heading north, please let me know,so I can keep my eye open for them.
Usually second or third week in March I start to see and hear them, for they will be very busy nest building.
So please give me a whistle to there heading north.
Thanks
Tropicman
Calling all coastners....
I saw the first robbins of the season here last week on my way home from work. Sure put a big smile on my face!
HEY! I didnt see any yet. But ya know that makes me think, I thought I heard one a couple of days ago and thought NAH too early. Guess I was wrong.
I saw two huge flocks of geese flying north today. Does that count?

You know,I've heard not all robins will migrate south, has anybody else heard or confimed this?
Jody and Dravencat,I sure hope so!!!
LLK,I sure hope they didn't stop and turn back around!!
Maybe more will follow! :}
Robins winter over here in southern Maryland if the winter isn't too severe. They stayed here all this winter. Right now they are feasting on holly berries along with the flocks of Cedar Waxwings - a sure sign spring is not far off.
Thanks,RBB,feeling springy all over!!!
We've had Robins all winter! I usaully get SO excited when I see them. Heck- we are in the ice age here. I'm thinking spring will never come.
Hmm,excited here about New Jersey, and Maryland having Robins all year long,I'm assuming that you all are living near the coast and not inland .Would love to hear from others living on the eastern sea board, having robins all year long as well.
You are correct about me, Tropicman. I live 17 miles upstream from the Chesapeake Bay on the Potomac River.
Lucky you to have a river for a backyard, all the water you'd ever want!!!
Im several blocks away from the water, about a 10-15 minute walk depending on how fast your walkin.
I'm about 400 yards from the Bay but I rarely see robins all year here in my neighborhood. Usually start to see them in Feb.
The mallards are here all year though and plenty of them. ;)
Spring is definately on the way. Sure hope it doesn't get "sidetracked" like it did last year, LOL.
Same here,I hate it when spring arrives then week or two later winter reappears!!!!!
Tell you what, TM, Having all that water in your back yard is great until someting like Hurricane Isabelle comes along. Then you want be as far away as you can get!!
I saw my first Robin today! :) I'm just southeast of Seattle
RBB,yes then you wished you lived in the mountains!
Sue,Thanks was it a male or female, doesn't the male come first before the female?
Hmmmmm, well the bird looked like this:

I'm assuming it's male?
Well looks like it to me too!
Won't be long to spring now!!!
Thanks
