Favorite place to sit in your garden, away from everyone and thing,or when you just want to be alone with one on one with nature...
Here's mine, theres an arbor with a bench under all those passion vines, the smell of the flowers the sounds of water from the foutain, and a hot cup of foldgers coffee....
Where is yours...
my favorite spot last summer was on the west side of my bantie chicken house which is in my new woodland garden area. Has an apricot tree to provide shade, a water fountain and a bird feeder or two with birds and a great view of mountains. Donna I don't know why I can't eliminate all the light area. Skanner won't do what i want it to do. !!
right now my favorite place is next to my woodstove...LOL
I like to mow. No one bothers me when I am on the rider. The hum hum hum of the engine is mesmerizing. The fresh grass smells good. The light breeze through my hair feels good. It takes me 3-4 hours to mow my whole property. That is a nice long break.
Our favorite place is an old shed which we opened up last spring. It is now 1/3 lockable storage and 2/3 covered seating area. It was on the property when we bought it, and is perfectly placed to be shielded from the neighbors on all sides. Since we live on one of those narrow urban city lots this is a wonderful bonus. Butterflies and hummers are always around.
I can sit out here on the back deck all day, but sometimes have to get up and water plants. This deck is shaded all day and the house blocks the view to the highway. Almost all of my flowers are in the back yard where we can enjoy them from here. Another place I go, especially in spring and fall is to my greenhouse. It is warm and comfortable to look out of. I'm not hard to please though.
When I want to get away from everyone, I find a place with lots of weeds. I invite everyone to join me, but you'd be surprised at how alone I am out there. lol
Wow! Some really beautiful get aways!!
I could nap at all those places without any trouble at all!!
You'all see those fine looking maters, lotsadirt, dad had!!!
Yep a big glass of sweet tea,and I'm set for an hour or two!!!
Angie, you're scaring me and I thought you were such a nice lady! HA!
bwaaahahahahahaha... ;)
p.s. Tropicman, I just wanted to say thanks for this thread. It made me dig up pics from the summer and remember how nice everything looks when it's not below freezing outside! :)

Oh no,SOMEONE is suffering from the winter crazies! Spring better hurry up and get here or we'll have to bail Angie out of jail for terrorizing the protected squirrel population! :)
Protected? Man have you been taken up the creek nat. I'm the one that needs protection. In the summertime I can near walk right up to them and they just eyeball me. But if I let Bismark out, *whooooosh* and off they go at 90 miles an hour, near airborn the whole way. lol
Actually, my neighbor's border collie takes care of my squirrel population. Dodger just luvs to scatter the squirrels that frequent my bird feeders. I don't know if he's trying to "herd" the squirrels or whether he just enjoys watching them run. But anyway, they don't stay long.
Thanks for the compliment Tropicman! As do you! There's a pic around on a thread somewhere of Root with his big ears...
You folks have a bunch of nice restful spots. We sit on our north facing porch in the summer, there is always a nice breeze to cool us off.
If I sit my chair into the corner of the little concrete patio off the back door slider I can face the yard and see every inch of it without being visable to the neighbors. Very relaxing unless I cough and they hear me. Once that happens There is no solitude as they talk to me over the fence and from the balcony overhead. But I don't mind. At least they are all nice neighbors.
Tropicman this thread was a very good idea this time of year to remind us of the great places we have to relax a few minutes. Great ears you have, nice to see you.
Root, love your star thingy, and also your boots. Donna
Wow Jim,that pic sure does make you long for spring!!
Your so right Ruth ,everyone needs to take time out to smell the roses!
Gosh Jim, I sure wish my garden would look like that one. Mine is usually very clean until about the middle of July and then the heat takes over.
Brugie, Heat?!? You're in Iowa. What kind of heat are you talking about???
This summer we had a few days with temps over 100 and a heat index of many days in a row around 115 degrees. Along with the heat we always have high humidity. It is pretty hard to work in the heat pulling weeds or even running the tiller. Keep in mind that I'm no spring chicken. LOL!
Brugie does that mean your a sprung chicken?LOL!
My spring is somewhat sprung too,not to mention a few loose scrrews!!!LOL!
I think we are in the same club. At least we didn't get a lot of snow with the last storm. I'm suffering a lot from cabin fever. Can't wait to have a day when it melts snow and makes mud.
Yeah, looking for mud!You are suffering cabin fever!!!!
Don, it is snowing again today. I'll have plenty of mud when it finally thaws. They said on the weather last night that we are running about 15 degrees below normal. I have to agree that this time they are right. It is cold. Probably about zero right now and only supposed to get up to about 3 degrees today. Burrrrr!!!
Your right Brr!Thats cold!Might get to 19* here they said.
Boy was I wrong. 10 below tonight. Things should warm after tonight. At least to above zero.
My favorite spot is the cypress swing hanging from the live oak. On cool afternoons I'll bring a pillow, a quilt and the current bestseller :)
Hi Ladybug, sounds like a great place for an afternoon nap also!!!
