Gator...I think Gator would be great. If we could wrestle some gator down in the Bayou... well, wouldn't that be a conversation piece for Psilo! Who do we know down south who could send us a bit of gator for the chair?
My main present has arrived!!!!!
Gee....Lemme think....Who DO we know? Just a few a dem Cajuns round these parts now!
We just need a medium sized gator... not a grandpappy. It seems I've seen threads with lots of references to gumbo... who the heck was that.... Psilo will be so surprised! Maybe we could leave the head on it, sticking straight up like a throne. She could store her CD's in it!
Maybe we could hang some Mardi Gras beads from its teeth, too. Might as well be as gaudy and festive as we can, Carol. =D
LOL you guys are NUTS. I think she would prefer sequins on it. With big purple bows on the legs.
LOL ROTFLMAO LOL you are all crazy coming up with these ideas! i think i think i think she would like alpaca fur. hmmmmmmmm anyone want to start an alpaca farm? i saw it advertised on tv. maybe someone here at dg is already an alpaca farmer. hmmmmmm anyone know????? hmmmmmm?????? they look nice and soft and furry to me. yep. yep alpaca is the way!!!!
we have alpacas near to us at the local park, but aint their fur a little wiry. I mean I dont want to sit down for fear of being tickled!!! :O;) LOL!!
not sure about gator either. With those beady eyes and those big nashing teeth!!!! arrggghghhhhhhhh
I suggest a compromise. Let's cover her chair with gator, then cover the gator hide with alpaca! It will give the gator a soft fuzzy look that should calm Psilo's concerns about the beady eyes and gnashing teeth. She can pretend it's a large Pomeranian doggy!
GW, I swear I have some mardi gras beads here somewhere. As soon as I find them, 'Alpaca' them up and bring them on over for renovations!
Booooooooooooooo! Oh, such a bad, bad pun!
Weez - I thought it was rather clever! Sure am enjoying this thread!!
My sequins need to be firmly attached along the edge of the chair as well as the back. Large sequins with lots of shimmer and over the top of those will go tiny sequins that are the sparkle the chair needs for a very good person to sit in. Psilo is worth the best in life and we need to give it to her!
The purple bows are to be made of the finest silk and velvet so to show off the beauty of the legs that sit in the chair.
We need to fix up the old chair too the same way and donate it to a charity so they can sell it for millions of pounds.
Got to make sure the gator head is sticking up! Love the idea of storing the CDS up there. Since Psilo isn't too fond of gators then the alpaca skin would cover parts of the chair. (Don't alpacas spit at people? Wouldn't it better to have teeth clicking at you rather than someone spitting?????)
ohhh but Alpaca is one of the very warmest fibers there is on earth. SO soft and nice. I used to spin it so I know the stuff pretty well. Psilo will be sooo warm and comfy in her new chair that she will forget about her old one and then we can draw straws for that one. I will be in charge of the straws.
djm... I think you are onto something. A bottle of window cleaner craftily place down the gator's throat, and Voila! We have a means of cleaning the computer screen, as well! A glittzy spitting alpaca gator... this chair will be one of a kind!
ponditis, i don't think so!!!!!! you are not gettin the straws. nope, no, nada, niet!!!!!
i firmly vote against the gator too. hey psilo doesn't want no gator head stickin up annoying her and i for one say I agree whole heartedly. so let's just trash that gator idea. perhaps another head would be nicer. any ideas?????? i like the squirt bottle idea. i wonder what other gadgets we can attach to this car? she can have a 007 chair.
i looooooooooooooooooove the sequins and pretty bow idea too. i love pretty sparkly things. maybe some crystals hanging down from the arms. they can do a two fold service. some can be used to pull on to operate one of her gadgets. like the spray bottle. just pull on it and it squirts the screen. but hey we have to have somewhere she can store some scot towels, or a rag, so she can clean off the machine without havin to get up.
yeah yeah i like these ideas. yeah yeah....
007!!!! now you are talking!! Pierce Brosnan is the sexiest men alive. You can stick him to my chair anyday. I would love to find out how his gagdets work !! ;)
well folks looks like we finally hit on something that psilo wants in or on or around or under or however she can have it. :) guess the woman really likes gadgets. :)
I still think the gator head would've been a nice gadget with the CD storage and the spitting window cleaner, and she could hang things from the jagged teeth and besides the jagged teeth could be fixed to clamp down and hold any good looking man she wanted so he couldn't get away!
*sputter* *sputter* Debi you think I Me Myself would actually CHEAT? WHY I NEVER!!!!!!!!
*Hurrumphhh*
(Ponditis stalks off with the entire world supply of sequins and bows.)
Psilo! I thought your voyerist heart belonged to... now, I've forgotten his name... the good-looking English fellow with the sardonic smile... help me out here.
Ok, I can accept the nix on the gator, but where does that leave us on the issue of the alpaca? We gotta look at the big picture here, folks, and now Pond has run off with the glitz. Looks like we've got a modified grocery cart with a windex bottle and (maybe) an alpaca. I think we need to re-group... what WAS that guys name???
English guy with a sardonic smile? errr... pass.. could it be either Sam Neil or Patrick Stewert? I have a yearning for the much older man! ;)
as for Sequins yuk!! Pond can keep em. I hate frills!! plain and simple is what I like best :))
well here i am following a trail of little purple sequins. hmmmmmm do i thinketh that ponditiseth wants to be foundeth? hmmmmmmmm eth. oh ponditis?????? wait for meeeee. oh there is a big purple bow around that maple tree up ahead. oh ponditis.??????? i'm sorry, i didn't mean to hurt your feelings.....will you forgive me???????come back. we need your imagination. the bad news is that we don't need your sequins and bows.
Tom Jones, is he old enough? I was going to say Richard Burton but I don't think he's alive anymore. I suppose you want one with his own hair and teeth, huh????
SAM NEIL! That's the guy! Much older, eh... that guy is young enough he could be wearing a baby bracelet with my name on it!
djm: I would venture a guess that any of these actors would have hair and teeth... as to whether it is their own, that's quite a different thing!
Perhaps Psilo would prefer the Victorian look. We could use draping to cover the legs... oh, I mean 'limbs'.
Oh YES! the Victorian type will be what she is looking for! Hmmmm, this will take a bit of thought! Maybe the "Heathcliff" type? Wonder if she has any moors close by? She could go rolling into the dense fog calling for Heathcliff? Or maybe the "dandy" type? Complete with skin tight breeches (?)and a shirt with rows of lace down the front? Maybe on the sleeves?
Yes, it has some definite possibilities.. black upholstery, lots of what tatting around the arms and back. She could wander the moors crying Sam, Sam! Ooops! I'd better hush or her hubby will take the chair back where he bought it... grocery cart and all!
I love that idea! Maybe she should call "Samuel, Samuel" which has a more Victorian sound to it! I can just picture her rolling into the heavy mists calling for her Samuel as the heavy wet fogs wraps its arms around her and she disappears from sight!
Did we ever get around to attaching a rain shield around that chair? Or even FOG lights?
Lights! Why didn't we think of lights! Even a few Christmas tree lights would be nifty! A pity Psilo nixed the sequins... can you imagine all the sequins in the lights! At the very least, I think the chair needs fenders to avoid mud splatter. A jaunt in the heath can be a bit mucky at times.
You are right! White lights do not help in swirling fog, so the Christmas lights would be ideal! Samuel should be able to see them. Maybe too, the gator needs a bulb in each eye socket for extra light!
Didn't Psilo nix the gator? I mean, I"M all for it....sounds good to me. Since they would be evenly spaced on the sides of the gator's head, they could serve as turn signals!
I think she did, along with the sequins, but I think safety should come first over her objections in this case!
Yes, it would be for HER OWN GOOD, wouldn't it. Sometimes tacky is better, where safety is involved. Maybe we should have some safety flashers, as well, in case she gets a flat along the roadside... she will be driving this back and forth to the grocery store, etc, won't she... I mean, after all, she has the basket now.
oh i like the light idea. bravo bravo. now if we take an idea from disney we will be in business. they have floats and people too, all deced out with lots and lots of tin lights. ever so pretty and festive. here is a link to the picture gallery of the parade. here is one to just wet your whistles and get our minds going for a chair design.
oh i must tell you that some of the little floats like the bugs go round nd round and someone is in there driving it.
http://www.dcacentral.com/dca/showgallery.php?id=dep
my personal favorite is that hippo starting page 8. of course we could do a garden theme, something like the cute little mexican snail. i like his hat. not a great picture in the gallery, you only see his backside. of course those little winged bugs are cute too. of course there is always a flower and the chair could be the flower pot. or if psilo likes we can have th hippo pulling a carriage and she can be dressed as a princess. what do you think psilo?
Moors yes we have moors!!! lots of them around here! and what do we get on moors? SHEEP!! now isnt that a better alternative to alpaca? ;)
Samual as Heathcliffe to my Cathy! brilliant!! now all we need are some rainclouds and a cave LOL!!! (only dont tell dh) LOL!!
btw we get a lot of rain here so how will I keep myself dry! :O like the mudguards Weez! ;)
but absolutely NO sequins!!!!!! Id look like something from 'Come dancing'!! LOL
We'll have to attach a nice, big umbrella to your chair's back. You can have it in your choice of prints, or plain if you must.
Is there a way we can attach roll down side panels on the umbrella in case it gets windy out on the moors?
I think it should be solar electric so she can travel anywhere she wants without using any earth resources. Plus she will need a seatbelt and attached scuba gear so she can come to the USA and visit all of us.
solar electric is a great idea pond, except we dont get much sun here in the UK. Would that mean I can only go out on sunny days?? hehehe.
GW the umberella should be transparent then I can pull it right down and still see where I am going, though maybe I could have a fancy blind on it so Sam and I can cuddle up when it gets really cold!! ;) LOL!
An aqua chair love it!! but how would I power it? theres no sun under the ocean and it gets mighty cold ?
Well, debi, I for one like the lighted float concept, so maybe we can incorporate a few things. I think strings of lights over the transparent umbrella would be a nice effect. In fact, if the umbrella could turn itself inside out, it would look like a huge flower when it was not raining. When the moors turn dark and brooding, Psilo could push a button, and spoing! the ribbing turns downward and the flower becomes an umbrella!
Psilo, I agree with you about solar power. I have an alternative, that, on the surface, may not seem viable, but keep an open mind. Garrison Keillor once did a skit about 'compost-o-carb'. This was an apparatus that fit over your carborator. It had a hopper in which you dropped compostable materials... the most available to a road vehicle being 'roadkills' of course.
Yes, with some well-placed lights, a good umbrella, and an infalible power supply, you could travel the moors looking for Sam (Heathcliff). He can certainly find you, considering the lights, and you will be able to find him by the sound of his rubber boots slurping through the bogs.
Have we discussed special Tundra tires for the chair? And perhaps a water tank and hose to rinse off Heathcliff's boots.
