Leatherleaf mahonia,in its bud making stage,starting to make the change,as I can see the yellow flower buds,starting
to plump up.This has bloomed as early as christmas some years,and lates as may,but usally in march.

This plant looks like it could be related to Oregon Grape which also has blue berries and hollylike leaves.
