Martha, your black trellis room looks suspiciously like a field of sunflowers. LOL. It sounds really interesting and I love what you did with the bamboo screen.

Get some vines going on that and you will have yourself a really nice hidey hole, sit back have a glass of wine, put your feet up and listen to the sunflowers grow.

Pretty cool! I liked all three pics! (Sure would love to grow sunflowers like you do, too!)

shoe those arent my sunflowers-the are on the highway-its or a store that sells them for the birds!

Molly I have several kinds of clematis from last yrs co-op growing on the back side and a new dawn climbing rose on the south side. Behind the back in the spring i have HUGE blue delpheniums. Of course I have night scented stock mixed in everywhere around he trellis.

Great finds!!!

I am with you Poppy, I never
find anything nice. If I do see
something good, DH is with me
& will not stop. He just does not understand the "Junk Thing".

That's a nice find, it looks like you've made a nice pleasant spot to rest from your labors.

The bamboo trellis is really beautiful.

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

What a blessing. I'm so glad you have it now.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I love both also! I love weird things for my garden. How does the bamboo do in the rain?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes the bamboo thingy is beautiful but I also wondered how it would weather. Do you coat it with polyurethane once a year?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

When I saw that bamboo I showed it to my DH and ORDERED him to go dumpster diving for me!!!LOL

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

i just showed my dh that and he said "find out where they live and we'll go and cut it down and put it in our yard out front."....lol....i told him i knew where you lived and he said "if they find it missing one morning, they'll know we have it". lol of course i couldn't leave without saying hello so that would kinda ruin that. hugggggs girlfriend

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Great dumpster find! I'm an old hand at dumpster diving myself. I have a fancy metal footboard in my border to fence off my stargazers from the evil bunnies.
