For you in Maryland:

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Homestead Garden Center (in Davidsonville, MD) has been named Garden Center of the Year by Garden Centers of America, Inc. Have you been there? It it really wonderful?

BTW, there is another similiar name in our Garden Watchdog, but it's in Montana.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

It's out by my in-laws place and it really is very nice, but very pricey!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Its a very very nice place, very big lots of plants, garden decor, tables and lots and lots of other stuff. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. The only thing I dont like about it is it is SO expensive. I live about 5 maybe 10 minutes away. Alway a neat plae to go during the holidays with all the decorations they put up. I dont know if they do mail order or not, I never asked them. Usually have weekend projects for kids and seminars for big kids.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

I do believe that Homestead Gardens is one of Jody's favorite nurseries! It's about 30 mins. away from me. Their prices are probably high because they carry a large inventory, difficult-to-find plants, and they are also selling to the Annapolis area, which tends to be quite pricey.

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

That is my favorite place! I just moved to FL and I miss it!
It is pricey, but the quality of the plants are excellent and I thought it was worth it for some of the stuff I bought. The Christmas display is great.

When you buy in the spring they give you "Myrtle Money" (1$ coupon for each $10 you buy)and you can use it during the Crepe Myrtle festival in the summer. I bought furniture and trees there, so I cleaned up with my myrtle money.

There are several pretty good nurseries near there as well which aren't as pricey (Patuxent and Springmeadow).

I checked out their landscaping fees and they were outrageous. I went down the street to Springmeadow and had them do my hardscaping (pond & stone walls). I did my own planting.

I miss my garden up there. I'm starting from scratch in Orlando.

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

SwiftWoods: It must be hard to leave something on which you worked so hard. But think of the blank canvas you have right now, on which to create! I moved into a house last winter and started my own creation! Course, I have a long, long way to go!
