I didn't know exactly what kind of day it was to be today, so entering the Giant Eagle Supermarket seem the usual. But oh no, there in the fruit department was a sign stating "10 California Oranges" for $2.00.
3 big piles of good-sized oranges, just waiting to be taken home. Sometimes the first crop of anything is so-so, but these are juicy and sweet.
Well if this isn't one of my all time favorite fruits. One that puts me into the addiction catagory, for sure.
I can eat and eat oranges; although too many and I break out. Usually I don't care; just give me more!
For some it's chocolate, maybe ice cream. For me it's oranges!
Am the only one to have such a craving? The only one that just can't say no?
What is your weakness (downfall)?
PS It has been 3 hours now, and there are 4 left. I am glad the store is open all night; I may need to go back.LOL
10 for 2 Bucks
chex mix and pringles
Chex mix? I've seen it on a thousand tables, but never actually seen anyone eat some. LOL, it was you AngelSong!
Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream.......and snickers bars.
Red Hots and potato chips :)
To make my favorite snack, I put a hunk of cheese in a coffee mug and microwave it until it is melted. My husband thinks that is so strange.
chocolate covered cherries with the liquid center.....dddrroooolll. AND MANGOS and plantains fried up just right and lomo sental(sp?) and papusas and black cherry ice cream and cheese cake and oops were we only supposed to say one favorite obsesion?
A good friend in San Jose, twice a year, will take the afternoon off to shop for chocolate. I mean a LOT of chocolate. And just ride around all afternoon eating the chocolate until she gets sick. Then she goes home and does it again, until she gets sick again.
And then she swears off chocolate for good.
Potato chips-cant stop at one
Cookies - any kind of cookies. I put them in the freezer, thinking it will be more difficult to be tempted, but I eat them cold and frozen anyway. If I wake up in the night - I eat a cookie before I go back to sleep. Last week I made Christmas cookies - four different kinds. All gone..... I eat cookies while I am cooking meals. I eat cookies instead of eating meals. I especially like small cookies that you can pop in your mouth like potato chips. The other evening, I was sooo tired. So I fixed a plate of cookies and ate them while I relaxed in the bath. Yep, it has to be cookies.
I love oranges, too! My big downfall is sweets, especially cookies. Don't ever send cookies over here for safe-keeping, HoneyGirl. ;)
It once was Pepsi Cola. Thank goodness I got over that one. In the middle of the night I would sleep walk to the fridge to chug a 12 ouncer down. Breakfast; any time. I am down to 1 Pepsi a day. Having 1 is like having none.
Oranges and lots of them. Then when they're gone, more oranges.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I craved navel oranges with salt and fudge bars (not together). I could eat two bags of oranges and 2 boxes of fudge bars in a couple of days.
Actually, those sound pretty good together! ;)
same way with oranges here, if you get a good batch, I will eat them all.
hmmmmm...I have many! I am a woman of many addictions!! (lol)
Really good mixed nuts (especially the cashews and pecans!) and an ice cold beer....toast with natural peanut butter on it....cranberry muffins....lemon anything....chocolate covered raisins....deep fried ice cream....a hot bubble bath, candles and a glass of wine.............I think I'd better stop now.
Oh, and bread. Not just any bread, but the really good wheat or 9-grain bread with nutty grains in it. Mmmmmmm.
Cashews, for sure! Elaine
My own homemade fudge with macadamia nuts and marachino cherries in it. I won't make any of that this year because I would eat it all and I sure don't need it. lol
I love nuts too. Macadamia nuts are my favorite but also cashews or salted in the shell peanuts or smoked almonds. Any of these nuts covered with chocolate is great. yum
A really good creamy ice cream with chocolate in it. Love a black cherry with chocolate bits in it.
Can you tell yet that I love chocolate?
After reading all these posts I'm starved. I know where I'm stopping on the way home from work....Giant Eagle for oranges! LOL and chex mix, oh and the chocolate. **sigh** Can't forget the chips...and of course some french onion dip. JUNK FOOD!!! **giggle**
dried cranberries - I keep a bag on the front seat of the car - it's my fruit for the day - just can't get enough!!
Hmmmm... My addictions seem to run in spurts. I can eat Oreo cookies for a month, and then none for months and months. I binge on candy corn for a couple of weeks around Halloween.
If I can find them, the really GOOD German gummie bears. I don't much care for the regular (domestic?) ones we usually find, but the German ones are outstanding!
... and strawberries! that still taste like strawberries instead of the pretty red berries in the grocery stores that resemble strawberries.
Maybe if I had a cheese tree instead of an orange tree, I would crave oranges instead of cheese. We always want what is harder to get, right?
I am with gardenwife-I love oranges too but don't let me watch your cookies if you want to see them again.
Reeses peanut butter cups
*sigh*
Cheri'
How long would it take to down 10 or 12 Reese's peanut butter cups? 5 minutes, easy.:) But what would be the drink of choice to drink with these peanut butter cups?
Mmmmm, icey cold milk!
O, that's easy
Hot strong Coffee. (Community Coffee of course, there is no other kind ...)
LOL
Cheri'
without chicory *sniff*
;)
STARBUCK'S Classic Coffee ice cream is my favorite.
Pears for me. Any kind. Fresh, canned, dried ,poached sitting on a drizzle of chocolate, and of course pear brandy.
Fritos
Coffee, no frills please.
The local Hank's frozen custard won't open 'til spring. Then it is chocolate frozen custard and burritos. They seem to go together OK.
Pure dark roast Community Coffee, GW. =) A little sugar, no cream. But that's not an obsession, it's an addiction.
Now, if it were available in the teeny little town where I live, Community's VooDoo Ice would quickly become an obsession. Good stuff in the summer time. =)
Cheri'
Pepsi-chips-popcorn-chex mix. Hey, has anyone tried the cheddar cheese pretzels they are scrumptous. You guys can have my share of chocolate too strong for me. I just want the salty foods and my Pepsi, so good together.
A big ,warm ripe chunk of Brie cheese and a hunk of chewy rustic rye bread with a nice fresh pear or apple for balance..............................Drool =)
But any good cheese will do.
I love mashed potatoes, butternut squash, turnips. I could have a meal with just them. But my addiction and I can't stop once I start is a jar of Tostitos Salsa Con Queso and freshly opened Tostitos white corn chips! And salted peanuts....
When I was pregnant with one of my children, I had a craving for garlic bread dipped in sour cream onion dip. I ate it almost everyday.
Oh and Ponditis...why don't you make that fudge with the macadamia nuts and maraschino cherries, I'll send you my address, and just so you aren't tempted....I'll keep them in safe-keeping for you ;)
:)Kathy

Debby - I'm with you on the Pepsi. Trying to cut back again and drink more bottled water. One a day is the goal and lately have had my old 4 - 6 pepsi's a day and can hardly fasten my jeans anymore!
Ponditis,
Would you want to share that recipe?
I love to make good fudge!
And yes!! Homemade mashed potatoes....Brie or any GOOD cheese!!....Chex mix and dried cranberries!
I did say am a woman of many addictions, after all...............
The joke is the Pringles can.LOL They give you maybe a handful of chips and expect it to be enough to eat during a football game. The container must increase in size. The price can remain the same.
Pringles and Pepsi. Sounds like a law firm in town.
or Pringles, Pringles, & Pepsi. :)
