I'll scrapbook about gardening. I always take a lot of pictures of my flowers and plants - - and have been looking for a way to display them where I can enjoy them during the gloomy months. So, I am making a scrapbook that is just devoted to my gardens. If there is every a time in my life where I can no longer garden, I will still have my memories!
If I can't garden, I'll.....
what a great idea, those are great pages!! I have lots of supplies, I think I should dig them out.
That's a very nice idea. I was thinking what a surprise it would be for somebody to recieve a gift of pictures of their own garden in the middle of a long winter from some thoughtful and sneaky photographer.
tiG, I bet you do a lot of "grammie" scrapbooking.
And Mary, Yours is a great idea and I'm sure that it would be treasured by the lucky recipient. Too bad you and your camera are so far away from Tennessee!
Nathalyn-I've never done scrapbooking. Your pages are fantastic. They make the photos pop. Thanks for sharing.
Nathalyn, your scrapbooking pictures are great, and as you said you will enjoy them for many years. I haven't done scrapbooking, but have taken thousands of photos of my gardens. I haave 10 large albums of general garden photos, each having several hundred pictures, And then have several albums devoted to special venues--clematis, hosta, bonsai, etc. So I am a photo nut!!!! Donna
Thanks Elsie & Donna. I, too, am a photoholic. I take pictures of everything and have numerous photo albums - - most of which are arranged by theme. But the scrapbooking will give me something to so during that bleek time in between New Year's and spring. Nat
Nat, this is such a great idea! I can't wait to do this for some friends of mine.
Thanks for the ideas of what to do when I get picture from my new to me camera next year. Right now I can hardly wait for the winter pictures that are coming soon.
Great idea, Nat. I'm not into scrapbooking, but I can certainly appreciate all the work that goes into a page. They turned out great!

What great scrapbook pages!
I haven't yet scrapbooked my gardens because they are so young and undone. The pics would be yucky alone. In a few years I want to do a scrapbook showing their progress.
I do scrapbook though. I have done books for my kids from birth to date. They love them.
Soon I need to do one or two for me! Thanks for the pictures. You are doing a great job. When I get to the point of scrapbooking my gardens, I'll look back on this thread.
Thanks Joan! I hope to get back on this scrapbook after the holidays. In the winter, I don't have a lot to do in the evenings and this will help chase away the wintertime blues.
Be sure and take some pictures now (or early spring - - I bet things are pretty dead up in ND) of the gardens. When I look back at my earlier pictures, I am amazed at how different things look.
Oh, I loved them!! Haven't started scrapbooking, but this sure gives me a kick in the pants to get a going!! Show us more!
Nat... I started a ring binder of garden photos this past spring and summer, to show the progression in the garden for any potential buyers. If I can make the time, re-doing the photos in your scrapbook fashion would give it some punch.
Thanks for posting!
darius, That's a great idea to have pictures of your gardens in the spring and summer available for potential buyers to see. I remember when I saw the first pictures of your yard and I was impressed with how beautiful everything was.
They say that the emotional impact that the first viewing has on a potential buyer is critical.
After Christmas, I'll post some more pictures as I can. I want to do more layouts that show the flower beds - - and not just individual flowers.
Great idea and pictures.
Nat, I guess I better get my hiney out there and take some pictures of my garden before I develope it any further. It sure is different having the digital camera. I might just be getting into the swing of things that it doesn't cost me tons of money to develop bad pictures to throw away. I gotta get rid of that mindset and get going.
Lani, You'll never remember how differently things look if you don't take some before pictures. At my last house, I could not believe how differently the house looked after 8 years. Even areas that we hadn't changed, looked totally different after the plants and trees grew.
And yes, digital cameras are fantastic, aren't they? I download them to my computer and then periodically have the ones that I want to keep printed.
Ah Wanda - - Lovely Picture! I am sure that the recipients of your cards will appreciate them.
Nat, I have pictures of our home when we were dealing for it and in a few stages of planting but now I can really take the pics since it doesn't cost money to get the bad ones developed. I am not a very good photographer and usually would only get a couple of somewhat decent prints out of a roll of film. Call me cheap but I got tired of paying over $6 a roll to see bad pictures.
I hear you Lani. You have to love having a digital camera!
WoW! Very nice! If I every get a new printer I would love to do this with some of my digital photos.
I need to put in some time organizing my daylily/iris flower photos with LEGIBLE labels & info. This week may be a good time to get it done. And I need to cull out the duplicates or flowers that are really too close in color. If I can think it over now, next spring won't be so difficult.
