I think I got this tree from Walmart. I did not add the last row of branches so I could display my little houses. I put up my tree the day after Thanksgiving so I can enjoy it each day

Shirley...I love the "village" Jo

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Great idea on the Village under the tree. I always have a hard time deciding where to put my village each year...

Garden: Love your tree and decor! Very warm and cozy looking :)

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

PS: Is that a Longaberger? I used to collect them when I lived in your area... Gretchen

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, everyone. We love that room with its dark and cozy colors. Nope, no Longaberger in this house - too rich for my blood. Ya know how much RAM one of those baskets would get for my computer? :^)

From my humble abode...

Can you find the states of Nevada, California, and Texas on the tree?

Nice! That's a realistic looking tree, too.

Well here is the cabin tree, all decked out with antlers on top, shotgun shells, arrows, hats and gloves and pinecones. Best part, notice the popcorn string. Believe it or not, Tim and I strung this popcorn when he was 10, he is 32 this year and yes the popcorn is 22 years old. I have kept it in plastic bags in the attic and haven't used it often over the years and it is still as white as the day it was popped and not one kernel dropped off!!!

We decided to get a tree yesterday, first one in three years as we usually go away for the holidays. This is a 7' white fir that we sawed and knawed through!

I made these flowers from wired ribbon a few years ago and they are still holding up, which is a miracle considering my sewing techniques!

Here is a pic of some of the poinsettias I added for color since the ornaments are crystal and colorless.

Your tree is beautiful. Love the ribbon flowers. I need to make some ribbon birds. can't seem to find the time.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thank you lizh - I made those about 8 years ago and forgot about them as this is the first tree in a few years.
GW what a cozy space you have there with the lovely tree and fireplace.
Gotta love the elves sliding down or up the tree too!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Merigold, I have an entire box of crocheted ornaments that I made about 20 years ago. Haven't put them on the tree for almost that long. I remember cutting my knuckles with all that crocheting and then I sewed sequins on them. I have wreaths, stockings, stars, snowflakes and candy canes. Get out those crochet hooks and get busy! They are easy although tedious to make.

Crossville, TN

Liz...I forgot about your pretty birds...you should post the instructions in Crafts Forum. Jo

Haigr, really like your carbin tree with the pheasant feathers, cool idea. Your fir is also beautiful.

No crocheting here, I tried knitting YEARS ago and had the sadest looking scarf you ever saw. I have a few talents but needles and thread are not one of them (I do counted cross stitch once in awhile, can't go wrong with that). I bet your crocheted ornaments with sequins are lovely.

I finally made a couple birds to put on the tree. Had to take the first one apart 2 times, couldn't remember what was next.

lizh, never saw birds made like that. Lovely!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, I *love* these. Liz sent me a few last Christmas and they're among our favorites. I had to give one to my best friend Amy and one to my mom, but I kept the rest for us!

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

I found the pattern and will try to make some of the birds.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Oh yardbird, where did you find the pattern? So many people though the years have asked for directions. I can show how to make them, but hard to tell you how. A lady showed me how about 35 years ago.

Crossville, TN

Liz, they are beautiful!! Ruth, can you post the pattern? Jo

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

I love all those Candee and Liz.........so, how's come ya ain't put them on our Christmas Quilt, huh, huh??
