I did it again

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Painted my ornamental grass, that is. I chose 2 clumps that were beige (such an ugly color), and painted one clump blue silver and red; the other clump is red with bright green accents. Lovely to see color out the windows.

What a good idea! Can you post a picture?

Yes, we do need a photo, please.
I remember somebody doing this last year, was that you?

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Lupi, You should paint one bright pink so you can remember your pink flowers through the winter.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey Lupi, where is the picture??? :) Did you use real paint or food color? I have lots of boring beige out there.

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

omg, I have to see a picture! My neighbors would keel over and die! lol :)

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

How creative. My garden could use some color too.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Hmmm, I tried to post a picture of last year's grass, but I guess it didn't take. Try, try again ;D

Very nice! What a cheerful sight that must be on gray, dreary days. Did you use spraypaint, food color....?

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

I can see it now....

"I swear it was really tall ornamental grass and it was bright red. I just have to know what variety it is and get some for my garden," Neo Gardener.

"I've never seen, nor heard of such a thing," Local Garden Center Owner. "You had to have been dreaming." Thinking to himself, "He had to have been drinking!"

LOL ;~D

You just wait, this will pop up on HGTV in a year or two. lol :)

I swear, I got the idea originally from reading a book. I do believe it was the head gardener at NCU (Joanne Ferguson maybe?) who inspired me. Or maybe it was that wacky guy Fender? Or even Graham Rice. Severely correct British horticulturalist Christopher Lloyd is said to approve, so it can't be too bad! LOL Everyone needs a little whimsy in their lives.

Regular spray paint works great. I used Rustoleum this year. Can't remember which brand last year. Just whatever is cheap. Hold the can about 6" away from each blade and spray away!
