Good help is hard to find

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

This is a future flower bed, I'm putting heavy cardboard over the grass and anchoring it with rocks to kill the grass. Newt thought I needed some help.

Mary, that is hilarious!! What did you do with Newt's favorite cardboard box?

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

This Newt is too much. Just like a cat to crawl under there. Like when you are making the bed and they have to get under the sheets.

MaryE Newt looks a lot like Mary one of the two walfare cats that live in my green house. Mary and sugar are called welfare cats because I adopted them for eighty bucks each from the alternative humane society. Mary is the naughty one of the two because she is relentless in her efforts to catch my quail and is kinda Lindas cat.

Sugar on the otherhand trys to catch the quail but thats ok because she is just doing what she was born to do. Besides sugar is mine because she says so.

Maybe I can get Ernie to take a picture of mary so you can compare. I don't know about the camera business but JR will be by soon.Ernie

Here is Newt. He was walking toward me meowing and purring, he is really not as tough as he looks. He was a non agressive tomcat who showed up here so about 3 months later we took him to the vet for a lifestyle change and now he is called Newt (but we should spell that Neut).

LOL Mary! And what a great picture. I love the look on Neut's face.

MaryE,
This cat looks like a clone of my Tomcat. Cept I haven't had mine nuetered. I don't have any other cats, He doesn't wander or spray. He doesn't even seem to mind the dog chewing on him at all. Very gentle natured cat.
Your Newt is a cutey.

I don't get to have a cat until the rats, ferrets & dogs thin down--I envy you! There is nothing as lovely as a cat wandering thru a (future) garden. Maybe he's waiting for birds & butterflies?

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey Wanda, a cat might help thin out some of the rats and ferrets for you.....LOLOL! I know they are your or one of your kid's babies, so maybe you should wait!

I love "a lifestyle change"! He does look tough. I have a kitty that looks so sweet - Lucy - but we know her and now she is Lucy-fur!
