sending seeds to Israel

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

Hi. I need some help here. I checked International trading and one of the posts said to check in here for more information. I had a reply to my seeds available from Israel. Can I send seeds there? What is the procedure?
Thanks for any help. I'd love to see seeds that I got from a Nursery here go over the big pond.

I sent seeds to Israel some years ago - you need a customs sticker which the Post Office has, just like sending them anywhere else overseas. Of course, I don't know if the recent upscale in security has any effect. Your best bet would be to check with your PO and they can tell you what you need and how best to proceed.

According to USPS - this is a NoNo.

Live plants and seeds is even listed twice and you can't even send used beehives!

Well shoot! And I had a used beehive all packed and ready to go! LOL
Seriously, thanks for the link George, I also got a request from Isreal for seeds I had posted & I am glad for that info.

Thanks George. Big Sigh

I am sure a lot of "illegal" contraband goes through the post. I really doubt the seed police will come after any of us for a casual mailing of a couple of seeds.

giggle. I, of course have never sent seeds to Ireland, or noted on the green card "educational material" But with the situation in that area wanted to be sure.
