Plants for west side of home

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

I need some recommendations for plants (shrubs, perennials, annuals)on the west side of my home. The challenge is, there's no sun till after noon then the plants cook in late evening. I live in zone 9.

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I'm in zone 7b and on a 9th floor with a balcony. My windows and balcony face full west. It will be interesting to see what folks suggest.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

On my sunny side I have: evolvulous, salvias, nasturtium (sp?) tomatoes, A hibiscus, cosmos, larkspur, bellpepers. Not all of them are there at the same time of course. In the winter it gets edged in leaf lettuce because I m letuce deprived in the heat so I put out lots in the fall. I had jade out there but just yanked it because it got too big.

Rett, I have a large evolvulous in a pot that hands in direct sun all day on the corner of my patio. It blooms year round there. It would probably make you a good patio plant.

Frogsrus, Thanks for the suggestions, I have had success with salvias, hibiscus, but not jade, it was too hot(I guess). Is there a common name for evolvulous, I don't get any results for it in the plant database.

I found this reference but no seeds as of yet: Evolvulus Nuttallianus. `Blue Daze'

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Here is a happy blue plant in the sun this noon. It looks like this all of the time. Gets droopy when it needs water but perks right up. I got mine in a six-pack. I have some in the garden area too. This one is so root bound that I should probably start a new one for the corner and plant the poor thing. I am afraid it would die of the shock!
