hi where can i buy an anti-desicant (sp?) such as wiltproof online or store. i've looked at home depot, lowe's etc with no luck. help....frost is due soon.
anti-desicant
I have been wondering if this is the same stuff as silica gel like they put in new shoe boxes? We throw away tons of it at work and I have considered bring them all home. LOL
A local nursery will have it. Just call around. Great idea for evergreen shrubs. I always put it on the hollies.
Wiltpruf is an anti transpirant, i.e. it reduces water loss from the leaves. http://www.wiltpruf.com/default.htm but I also see it referred to as anti-dessicant
The other anti-desiccant, like silica, is really a desiccant and is meant to absorb moisture - preventing mildew, etc. like in shoes. This is useful in seed packets to reduce moisture build up. http://www.desiccare.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.100.exe/online-store/scstore/shop_small_absorbents_pp.html?E+scstore is one source, unless Badseed wants to become a supplier.
I found it last year at HD....
