I am blessed(cursed?) with an overabundance of these pesky critters. I have been altenating between pulling up by roots, and cutting close to ground using my electric hedge trimmer.
Does ANYONE have a better solution, such as an organic herbicide that I can use. My patch of the stuff is about 10'feet wide by 90 feet long.
Urtica Dioica ($$##@@STINGNETTLES)
Here's a study using a propane flamer to control nettles - http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/CoopExt/Adams/ag/flamingstudy2002b.htm Looks like it might be worth a try.
Thanks, poppysue:
Unfortunately, 8(~ , my patch is VERY close to a band of spruce trees. We've had a dry spell here most of the summer, soooo..Unless I want to see all my neighbours, plus me and de dawg, go up in shmoke, I'll try less drastic means.
Bobs
what did you end up doing with the nettles??
