Garden Shoes??
NO, Hiking shoes. What I always wear out on the trails.
right right-hiking wear or hiking WHERE?
silly people!
OHHHHHHHH! Just perfect!
I thought the price was right too.
Think of all the aerating you can do as a bonus! I'm not sure the price is high enough. LOL We have boots at Target that are nearly identical. Scary-'dressy' hiking boots???
Ah, yes, those should match my usual gardening attire perfectly. One should never work in the garden without the proper attire! Yeah, right!!!
NO, NO, NO! You definitely need something more substantial. How about http://www.daisymaze.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=400185&aref=dealtime
Although the coolest I have ever seen were some high heel tennies. About a 6" spike, but the slow looked like the old converse white tennis shoe. Couldn't find any on the web, but I did learn that the Miss Florida contest does not allow high heel tennis shoes. Maybe these red ones would work for the more casual days? http://www.jrenee.com/about/history.html
Now the ones in the first link are definitely me! And, I can afford them....maybe everyone at the Ga. swap will be impressed when I show up in those.
I know I would be IMPRESSED!
Hey, I'm so old I would fall off any heel over an inch... I garden in beat up tennies--not fashionable, but great with a shovel!
The high heeled lace-up boot is now back in fashion. I think it was Madonna that was wearing these on stage the other night.
Madonna doesn't have my touchy ankles!!! Fell off the garage stairs 2 years ago & tore my Achiulles tendon almost thru. Crawled for 2 weeks inside the house. Crutches for a month after that. Walking boot for 3 months. Ankle support after that. I finally stopped limping this spring. I have NO shoes over 1/2 inch tall. I'm NOT doing that again. My flowerbeds looked horrible that year!
I wouldn't encourage any woman to wear high heels. I know, they are dressy. As a matter of fact I do compliment women when they are sensible, and wear low heels.
I love you golddog! You've made an old nearly-lame woman feel fashionable. LOL
According to my (now deceased) Mother in Law, my wife should not have married me because of the high heels.
1. "You won't be able to wear high heels because he is the same height as you!"
2. "But he's the same age as your kid brother." (2 year difference.)
37 years later, we proved her wrong.
I swear by my Berkie Professionals: http://www.birkenstockonline.com/frames.htm They are black rubber with a removeable neoprene insole... I wear them all the time. For formal occasions, I just rinse them under the faucet, then a spray of Armorall, a bit of elbow grease, a pair of fishnet hose, and I'm stylin'!
Actually I have the red ones on George4tax's link and another pair just like them in Blue! Bought them many years ago....late 60's early 70's...They are still in a box in the garage. Maybe it is time to bring them out and wear them again since they are ugly enough to be back in style! I thought they were pretty cool back then...Now I can be a Coll Granny!
Wow, Weez, you are certainly stylin'! I like the rubber also. The insole is a must for good support. It is nice to be able to wade in the mud, slosh in the puddles, and not give a hoot.
You all sound like my kinda woman!
Not enough mud here for boots. That first pair has my heart going pitter patter though. Flops (is it stil ok to call them thongs?) with thickish soles and something a bit more substantial when using shovels and weedeaters and things. And don't forget the accesssories. A matching foam thingie to kneel on.
I used to walk all over San Francisco in 3" heels. I must have been young or insane or both.
