I have used them in previous years, but after a couple episodes of my suppliers discontinuing them, I quit a few years ago.
This summer, my father is again unhappy with the condition of the grass lawn because of the grubs. So he wants me to get them again. Now to search for a local source (hoping to avoid paying the Overnight Express fee)
Who else uses (or has used) them? I think it was just inertia that I got away from the practice, but they really do work, at least for me. And since I am a (almost completely) organic gardener, I won't use broadcast pesticides, especially where kids and pets roam.
Perhaps it is just a subconscious desire to get rid of even more of the grass lawn? Let the bugs kill it, and I can plant more groundcover! *said grinning evilly
Beneficial Nematodes
Check out Home Depot. I believe I saw them in our store last time I was there.
Lupy, I got my beneficial nematodes from Gardens Alive! Their catalogs frequently have discounts (up to $20) on them and sometimes that applies even if your purchase is only $20 so you end up paying just for shipping! I don't know if they have similar discounts on their website or not.
I have always bought from Biocontrol Network http://www.biconet.com/. They're on WatchDog with a star :) They will spend a great deal of time with you on the phone since it is owner run and he really knows his stuff. I'm not sure how they compare price wise.
