xvtracy wants to know how many DGers are out there in K.C.?
We met just the other day,she is a great person, and I hope a good long time friend!
She is new to Dave's family. She has a great spot in the country!(for me if you can toss a weed over your shoulder and not hit your neighbor, your in the country!)
Well.she is just off the road, out by the stadiums to me,close to more of you then me!
Well she would like to get us all in the yard to talk plants
Very informal!May I stress informal,(I may wear my knee-high boots, like the first time we met!)
Anyway,it will be before the weather breaks, and is convenient for everyone, maybe for a few hours in the afternoon.Maybe end of Sept.?
Anyone interested?

K.C. DGers!!!!!!!!!!!!
im interested.....i live in sedalia so im not very far....there is a friend of mine that lives by the race track so i will get in touch with her to see if she wants to come visit.....we were gonna get together and trade some broms like we do at least once a year, but im so busy...keep in touch....you can email me also....wow...that is wild cuz when i go 'back home to st joe' i pass the stadium all the time....good deal...cindy
I'm pretty new, too, and I'd love to meet some fellow DGers! I don't have near the experience or collection that most of you do, but I'm all for learning. I've been exposed to so many new plants on here (and after seeing the tropicals that rootdoctor is able to grow here-WOW) that I absolutely MUST HAVE, my DH thinks I'm nuts!
brommom, I'm originally from the st joe area, too... and I still go up there quite often to visit family.
heather i am like you rather new..and not much to share yet...but thats ok...please come anyway...i think this will be fun for all of us to meet each other.
brommom,I drive State Ave.around the track, everyday on my way to and from work.
Heather,Xv is new and feels same way,she has such a nice spot, but feels she has nothing to trade.
That is not what this is about,Daves is Family,so come on,bring friends!Lets Yack,I know it will be great!
Pssssst never know what you may bring home!LOL!
Mercy, Brommom, I live at Hughesville. Wonder if we know each other and just don't know it. I went to Smithton School and graduated from there. Anyway I would love to come and I'm sure my daughter who lives in Independence would too. Just name the date. A Sunday afternoon or weekday evening would be best for me because I always work Friday and Saturday afternoon & evening.
Oh, I think it would be fun just to meet everyone, even if I didn't bring anything back.... but that doesn't mean I would turn down a lonely plant looking for a good home... ;-) And rootdoctor, if I ever get moved into a permanent place with lots of garden space, I would just LOVE to come raid your garden... with your permission of course! LOL I am in awe of the pics you and others post on here of your gardens. I'm always showing my DH, "see, this is the kind of garden I want to have someday"
Heather,your making me blush LOL!
This will be great, like I said,No preasure, you don't need to bring plants, since it is fall.
It will just be to say "Hey"
Sounds like there is some interest already!
I wish I lived in Kansas!
Me Too!This will be fun,who knows what this may blossum into,Tracy is a great gal,and I know there are lots more folks close by!
Wish I were close by. I'd be there in the snap of a finger. These get togethers are great. I think the second one up here was the best because we had all met the first time and were more at ease the second time. Hope you all have a great time. Don't miss out if you can possibly get there. It will be well worth your drive time to meet so many new friends.
I had the pleasure of talking with Tracy on the phone this morning, and she WILL have stuff to trade when she leaves my house! LOL She sounds like a lovely lady, so I am excited that we plan to meet in person VERY soon. I had to share that without Cala and Brugie and Floridian and Arlene and Jerrod's mom and many others, I wouldn't have things to share - we all have to start somewhere. Thanks to those who have been so loving and generous with me. I will DEFINENTLY be at the KC Round-up.
Kay she is a Hoot, you will have a great time with her,I think the XV stands for Xtreme Voltage!LOL!
Glad to hear you will make it,you Gals talk about a date.
How far is KC from ARIZONA? LOL Ya'll have a blast! Jo
Alright!! I'm gonna try to make it -- will really depend on the date and what DH's got going on. Otherwise I may just have to show up with 18 mo-old in tow. Please post a date as soon as possible so I can get it in the family calendar. Thanks, Bob for emailing me offline about this thread. Brenda
I would love to meet up with everyone, too! Let's talk about a date soon. I'm so glad that I ran across this group on the net.
Brenda,19 mo. olds are welcome.I'll bring a knee to bounce on!
We were talking about maybe the last sunday of this month,Tracy is going out of town soon, may be gone now,she is going to see grandbaby.
I do not have a calender handy, how does the last weekend of Sept. look?
Brenda , we want to have this very informal and often,as you mentioned,we could do lots of things from time to time,GH tours in spring,Powell, water garden tours,Etc.
We just need to all meet first, then I'm sure it will snowball.
enod of this month is fine with me....just so long as its not the first weekend of october, thats the weekend they have the big swap/junk flea market at jacobs cave....i am goin to that for sure since i didnt get to go in the spring..lol....i will have lots of potted plants to bring, but im not sure what have that is ok to be planted in the fall...cindy
Hello everyone,
Not gone yet but almost...I am leaving for Chicago on Friday right after work... will be back tuesday.... I think the last sunday looks good for me too. that would be the 28th of September. So if that works lets plan for that day. I am so excited to meet you all. Will be back on the boards as soon as i return... have a great weekend all.
Tracy
The 28th looks good for me. This should be fun!
Count me in too!
Just talked to Mary E on the phone, sounds like this should be fun!!!
Way way cool. I gotta try to make this! Glad I looked on this forum. I usually don't look here.
Sounds like great fun to me,too! Glad I joined before the get together.
My gosh Mary, your up and on Daves before me,you are hooked!
I will make every possible effort to make this one. It sounds so exciting. Are we going to have a potluck meal or snacks?
Brommom, that swap at Jacob's Cave is so fabulous. We have been several times and always see something new. I also have made several impulse purchases that I wonder later why I got that critter. Sometimes we take a bunch of our extra pigeons and sell them.
GOD bless and keep all of you.
Leaflady,I hope you can make it,I still hay some Ears for you,DW never made it to the Osarks this summer,so she could not deliver.
Hi everyone, I am at moms on here computer so i hope this posts ok....Weather is great up here. Been looking for things to dig up or seeds to pick...hehehe Having a family get together for my brothers birthday today...he wants Pizza...Yuck! Just stopping in to say hi...was having Dg withdrawls.
When i get back, this weekend i will put an email together for everyone that wants to join us ....i was thinking snacks would be good..any suggestions??? If you all get a chance send me an email so i can get an idea about how many will be there...that way i can make a list and mail everyone....I am getting so excited... May not be able to log back in till later next week so have a great weekend....
Tracy
The date will be
September 28th... from 2:00 to 6:00
unless we cant stop talking then of course we can hang out longer:) time flys when your talking gardens
I am going to plan on having some snack foods to munch on, but no one needs to worry about bringing anything....just bring yourself.
dont worry about trades or anything unless you really want to. We can always get together again in the spring time to trade... or sooner even.
19 more days...yippeeee
Tracy
I'm excited!!!
i have some potted plants, i dont even know where to begin, they are house plants and if anyone is interested i will bring them and yall can have what u want..im getting things thinned out for my greenhouse since i have been buying all summer and still am...lol.if noone is interested i wont bother bringing them...someone let me know....i should have quite a bit
have not so rainy day tomorrow..:)
cindy
Still rainy here Cindy!!!
I am like you, thinning, most of mine are tropicals, they will have to be treated like house plants.
Don't worry about bring to many plants,we want mainly to just meet and chat,we can talk about getting a trade together in the spring.
Will be great to meet more DGers!
Seems like now I won't be able to make this and I'm bummed.
I think I'll be bringing some deep bright red abutilons Powell Gardens discarded and maybe some daylily and iris starts. I don't think PG will have discarded any mums or asters by then but if they do I'll likely bring some of them too. I'll have to get busy and dig the daylily and iris starts and will try to do that just a few days prior to the meeting. Just realized I also have red Disco Bell hibiscus seeds and maybe some others too. I'll have to see what I manage to get together by then.
My hubby thinks he may try to come too. If he does he likely won't feel up to going to PG the next day. He going to start working in data input again as of tomorrow.
See everyone the 28th, if the Lord is willing.

KathyJo,I am sorry you can not make it!!I hope you can plan on our spring fling!
Leaflady, don't hurt yourself digging to many things,we plan on a plant swap in the spring, this is more of a social gathering,I am sure that we will have a few plants.
We need to get a headcount.
I think the day/time looks good for me, so count me in. I've got seeds to bring if anyone is interested. Here's a list of what I have....
Gaillardia 'Goblin'
Larkspur (pink)
Coreopsis 'Early Sunrise'
Baptisia australis
Portulaca grandiflora
Can't wait to meet you all. Brenda
