Help!!! What are these and how do I get rid of them!

Hayward, CA(Zone 10a)

I am new at gardening and even newer to DG. I have these on several of my lilies. What are they and how is the best way to get rid of them. Any help is very welcome.

Looks like it might be aphids?? Spraying with insecticidal soap should get rid of them. Ladybugs eat aphids... so don't spray the ladybugs ;)

Aphids love lilies. I agree with Poppysue, don't kill the ladybugs(or green lacewings)

Thank you poppysue and Calalily, I will get out the insecticidal soap and begin the war. Just a question on why they are present on some of the lilies and not the others. I mean the are with in 8 inches of each other. Is that strange? Thanks again.

I saw on a show that aphids are one of the top 10 reproducers in the world. I think both sexes reproduce live babies. Then in fall they lay eggs that will hatch in the spring.

Poppysue, Thanks for the info, will make sure the eggs don't get the chance to hatch.
