I'll have a six pack! :)

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

you've got a point there..
when ya go the drug route they dont let you do ANYTHING for like.. 8 hours
lol
they wouldnt even let me get up and go to the bathroom.. or eat solid food.. (ofcourse, my boyfriend snuck a chicken quesadilla from taco bell into me.. but that's not the point) or anything ..
i hated it afterwards..
but with the amount of pain i went through even *with* the medication.... i would definitely do it again
if the epidural did even the slightest bit for the pain, i dont want to go without it
lol

sooooo... chele....
you should be about ready to pop...
when are you betting on it happening?
i always figured my water would break at the most inopportune time.. like when i was in the grocery store or something like that
lol
it never did break.. i just sprung a small leak, and they had to break it for me to start labor ..and as SOON as they broke my water, the contractions started.. and up until that point, i insisted i was not going to have any medication... after the first contraction, i was begging and crying for the epidural
lol
it took 'em like 45 mins to get it to me, tho.. cuz the anasthesiologist guy was on his lunch break (at like 7 pm... )
i thought i was gonna die
it was BAAAD
never doin that again..
well.. ok, i want a girl.. so maybe i'll do it again once.. but that'll be it! lol
:)

I was wondering, do they still take the baby away from you as soon as it is born and put it in a nursery? If the mom wants to, can she have the baby left with her?

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

they left my baby in the room with me the whole time (3 days) that i was in the hospital
except for when i had to leave the room for any reason, then they took him into the nursery so he wouldnt be left in the room by himself
they put me in a nice little room with a rocking chair.. and a bed for the baby.. and several changes of hospital baby clothes.. and hospital baby sheets.. and blankets.. and diapers and stuff
everything i needed to take care of him by myself.. they didnt really bother us very much at all, except to check my blood pressure.. and his temperature periodically
was pretty nice
that was in hardin memorial hospital in elizabethtown, kentucky...
i dunno if it's like that everywhere
i would imagine that most hospitals are like that nowadays.. but i'm sure that not all of them are, yet

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Hi Miss_Kitty, I think we talked about this before, but my daughter had her babies at Hardin Memorial in E'town. Talk about laid back! They were real good to her. Of course, I just chalked it up to the fact that we lost Cameron, and they were so caring....came in and cried with us and hugged us and knew when to stay away too. She had to stay in longer than most because she had C-sections with all of hers. But my other daughter had hers at University Hospital in Louisville. She was considered high-risk as they had been in a very bad car wreck when she was 6 mths along. They were tremendous!

I had one of my daughters at Camp LeJeune, NC omgosh...25 years ago! They would not take her. Once she was born, I had to keep her and no one told me. I waited and called, and waited and called. Then one time she was choking on me and I called for the nurse to help and they said they were on lunch! My husband went tearing down the hall and I could hear him screaming at the nurses all the way down the hall. He wasn't there when it happened and was so ticked when I told him.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

well i hope all hospitals are like hardin memorial.. as far as the maternity ward and stuff
that place was great
i was admitted like 3 times because when i was preggo, i got to be really accident prone.. lol
and it was the middle of winter so everything was frozen .. i must have slipped and fell like 3 or 4 times....
they say if you fall and hit your stomach, to go to the hospital and get checked out, so like 2 of those 3 times that i was admitted, was because i had to get put on monitors.. and the staff was so great
the third time, ofcourse.. was to give birth
i was a lot nicer to be around the first 2 times i was in, i'm sure
lol

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

hrm.. anyone heard from BS lately?
i do hope everything's alright!

North Tonawanda, NY(Zone 3a)

I do believe that just about everyone at DG is pacin' the floor like nervous fathers in a maternity waiting room, lol. 'Chele posted a little earlier, around ten on another thread in Parking lot. She's still preggo, and counting the days.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

It would be just like her to give birth on April Fool's Day

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

After reading this and the other thread wondering if Chele was pulling an April Fool's gag (and knowing her sense of humor!) I gave her a call last night.

Who knew giving birth could be such a loud process!!!
All that screaming and yelling!
It was a madhouse!
Course that was the dog and the kids! :)

We talked for about a half hour.
Other than Chele still having a cold
and being MORE than ready to get this over,
All is fine.
Bags packed, snacks ready, car gassed up......

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL You guys are too much! I'm starting to exhibit the signs that it will be any time, have been since yesterday afternoon. You know this one couldn't fall into the pattern like the first four. Heck, the last one did her own thing too. All I can say is I'll be very surprised if it is not today. Thanks for all your thoughts. :)

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Good Luck, Wishing You the Best, Have a Quick and Easy and Wonderful Birth, Badseed. Have that baby girl today and come on up to deMonye's on Friday. And that's no April Fool's Joke!

Mount Hermon, LA(Zone 8b)

Badseed, how can you stand the suspense? Everyone here has probably bitten their nails down to the quick, in anticipation! All the best! I am so proud of you!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I was away from the house all day yesterday but made sure I checked here last nite to see if the baby had arrived. I think we are all watching for the "Baby has arrived" thread. lol

Wishing you all the best Chele.

Donna

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

I'm hoping she'll post here if'n she's headed to the hospital. Didn't DH guess today for delivery ~ lol! Prayers for a safe delivery & healthy little girl :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, just got home from the midwife. Things are happening but no real steady contractions. I could go any time or I could still be waiting. LOL

Had you on my mind all day...thought for sure baby would be here by now....

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Every time this thread pops up in my watched list I get all excited!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Ah, 'Chele, you're almost there! Thanks for keeping us updated :) Kind of fun to have us all pacing & wondering...

Mount Hermon, LA(Zone 8b)

Did any baby ever have more 'aunts and uncles' pacing around Dave's Garden's 'waiting room'?

What is that woman still doing on the computer? I thought 'Chele said she was going into labor!!!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

I think she is so relaxed and ho hum about delivering babies that I can picture her on the delivery table, feet in the up and ready position and a laptop computer propped up against her tummy, yaking with all of us between contractions.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

lol!
that's a funny picture to have in one's head...
i hope everything moves along speedily and there are no complications!
good luck, BS :)

please post when the time comes!!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Yeah...I can just see it

Gardenwife: What's new, Chele?

Badseed: Not much, still in the delivery room

Gardenwife: Good battery in that laptop, huh?

Badseed: Yeah, LOL. BRB

Gardenwife: k

Badseed: Whew! Glad that's over. You should hear the lungs on that kid!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hah!!!...what a dialogue!

(But I certainly understand! My wife thought she was gonna be able to watch "The Commish" and have DD on the commercials.) ;>)

(True story folks.)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Ha!! Did she have Alex at home, or was this in the hospital? Great show, that.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Gee, I was watching Star Trek with DS but somehow lost concentration. Never did find out how that episode ended. Lol!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

For a little update Chele is still at home. I think she really wants to get past April 1st. lol

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

I think Chele is squinching together her ...well, never mind....

GW, no, we went to the hospital to get looked at cus of some "discomfort" and they said, "whoa...you're not leaving!" (That was also the day I got my name.)

And yes, I wish that show would come back on...it was a good one!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Slight discomfort, huh? LOL

I don't know about you all, but this thread is loading slowly for me and I'm on broadband. I started a continuation! http://davesgarden.com/t/424069/

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Yes great news now Bad can concentrate on a half rack.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Wow - I'm new to this site (but I know Donna from Huntington Beach) but have so enjoyed reading from the earliest posts about this new little one - congrats Chele and family!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Kathy no I am not really her Aunt just in name only. Of course the rest of the girls might disagree. lol Chele and I have been friends so long we always said we where like sisters so I could be the girls Aunt. This is my third badseed baby to watch grow up and spoil. Now I just can't wait to I can go see them.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

You're only about an hour or so away, aren't you? Give Chele a big hug for me and that sweet baby too. :)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

So, Badseed's finally germinated and a new seedling has popped out of hiding to greet the spring! Does she have a name yet? Don't want the new little doll to go through life without a moniker of her own.

Only 3 more to go for a full softball team! So.... shall we start the next baby watch now and guess her birthdate? Say about Nov. 12, 2006?
