I think this thread has taken a left turn. LOL
DG Family Tree
WEll, butter my butt and call me a biscuit...I like that old down home talkin.....Jo
FOFLMBO Thanks for the gut laugh, Jo.
I just foudn this thread... and love it!
Hunh, I thought I wuz already most of ya'll's sistah - that is if you will have me ?
And yeppers this thread did take a left turn someplace - but its more like the "Long and winding road..... "
...and I have figgered out that Gardenwife and Howie are marriet.
I am not surprised that Tc knows such colorful expressions: TC is from Kaintuck after all!
frog; 3 foot long squash!? Roll up yer britches legs y'all, it's startin ta git a tad deep in here! :~O
gw; I know what ya mean about things gettin a bit behind! I still have two flats of flowers I ain't put in yet!!
Ponditis; or "I'm outta here as fast as a maggot takes to a gut wagon!"
NW; the thread has took a u-turn iffin ya ask me! But hey, who asked me anyway?!
rr; that'a a goodern! Mother would say that and us kids would just howl!!
Ponditis; oh...nevermind...already responded to ya.
Lavanda; only thing I kin think of to say to ya is what does "DFW" stand fer?
Oh, my unplanted leftover petunias are f-r-i-e-d. First couple of hot days just zapped 'em.
gw; stuff in the flats is still livin, roots are growin up and out over the sides, tryin to plant themselves I reckon!
Sorry 'bout yer petunias. :~(
Why GW. My flat of petunias is still blooming out there. Granted the blooms are getting smaller and smaller but they still smell great! Love those dark blue ones!
Thanks tc for the laugh. I like that one! Have ya seen that Aimee has started another thread on down home sayings? It will be fun to read as it goes along.
Ponditis; just posted a take on the "maggot" one in Aimee's thread! And also a few more of mine. The thing is to try and find quotes that aint a cliche!
tc and gw: If you are gettin a bit behind we might have to butter your butts and call you biscuits!! (thanks Jo that had me on the floor)
DFW stands for Dallas/Fort Worth, because the two cities have grown so large there is now no way to be sure where you are if you're driving there. Well, I think that's what she means. That abbreviation came into use after the new airport, which is no longer new but for some reason I still call it that, was built between the two cities. Love Airfield, Dallas, will always have a place in my heart, and the new one is so huge and cold I avoid it when possible.
But Red Oak is a nice little wide spot in the highway on the way from Austin to DFW.
Aimee; tanx fer the info! :-)
Ok ya'll let's call Jeff Foxworthy cause this stuff is straight material for "You might be a redneck" LOl
Tina
Tina...you got that right! Jo
I've just run across this thread and must declare that I too was placed here from across the big pond. So unless anyone is related to a Muth or a Pietsch, possibility of being related is out of the question :(
There was my grandpa's brother who escaped to Canada during the war but no one knows where he is or what ever happened to him. His last name is Muth and all I know is that he's very tall. I forgot his first name but think it started with an M. My grandpa was Alois Muth so if anyone knows anyone by that name, do let me know :)
I would love to find some family as mine is so distant
Aw, Susan, I already adopted you, so you know you have at least two mamas. And you could be kin to anyone if your uncle changed his name.
As one who is perpetually seeking blood lines, with Smiths hanging all over both sides of the tree, I can sympathize with the need for connecting. But maybe we are better off not finding them. I don't think too much of some kin I know already.
I really don't know too many of my kin so am always hoping to find someone
thanks for adopting me. I just love our conversations on the phone and always look forward to the next one :)
I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone as long as I do with you on the phone, not even my own mom......lol
Aimee; my sis down in KY is married to a Smith. Those dern Smith's shore git around don't they?
Susan; I ain't got no close family either! :~(
TC, that must mean we're kin by married. I knew there was something about you.
Seriously, some of our Smith kin were in Kentucky before Mama was born. Matter of fact, her daddy was known as a horse trader. No, really!
well at least we have each other TC
Well say no more Aimee!! We may jus be "kin by married"!!
Hey, TC! Where have you been? You and I must be related somehow...we have way too much in common. Did you know you joined the day after I did? This is getting spooky.
I believe he just retired for bed
NW; Been out inda gardens most all day! Have ya checked yer mail??
Louisa is my adopted Momma! :) {{}}
hey psilo; hadn't "saw" ya in a while here (or there)!
not been up to my best this last week or so tc but I am back again now!! :)
nothing keeps me down for long!:D
sorry ta hear that psilo, but glad ta hear that yer doin better!!
Flow not how tall was granspas brother? LOL Might have just found another cousin. I have so many relatves on here I can't keep up with them. For some that don't know I found Jo, or she found me, during one of these discussions simiilar to this. We were talking about genealogy and bingo we were related. The strange one was the way I found Mystic. She sent me a Christmas card and I saw her last name and recognized it from my family tree that I had been doing research on. I emailed her and her brother-in-law had been working on their family tree and brought a copy to them at Christmas. The entry in my tree was from Kentucky and it was the same person in her tree. Amazing I would say. For all of you that wonder about what we all look like check out this forum http://davesgarden.com/f/rounduppix/
he was about 7' something is all I remember being told
Jim, I found another "cousin" out here in Arizona last week. He is from Burlington/Boone, NC....Do you have any Councilman's in your family tree? (not the elected kind...last name.) Jo
Jo I know there are some Councils but I'll check on Councilman.
I decided long ago that Louisa (dearest Margaret) is really my darling grandmother's long-lost much younger baby sister :) So she is my aunt (by mutual consent ;D She cooks just like her! Somehow my grandma passed along the recipes to her, or they both learned from mutual relatives from Ireland.
And Windsurffer adopted my mom as her mom, so we are sisters now.
And Badseed just hasta be my grandpa's missing sister's granddaughter, so she is my (second?) cousin?
I have very few known relatives, too, so I have to find my own. Most of my relations just kind of moved away from Buffalo back in the 1910's or 20's, and no one kept track of them after that.
Lupine....you couldn't have better "Kin" than the one mentioned above!! Jo
I'll second that Roadrunner!
I have some blank pedigree forms.
Would be very happy to send you a few.
This would be a pedigree even a pro couldn't figure out!
I wonder if I belong here?
Sandy
P.S. You people are so funny
I just remembered that I am related to Lenjo by marriage. LOL Her hubby's grandfather has the same last name as my DH. Rare last name so I really think there is some relationship there. I guess I could call her cousin. LOL
Through my Smith great-grandmother I am probably related to all the other Smith in the USA and abroad too. LOL
Altogether I really think that I am a mutt.
Unless you have some Muth or Pietsch out there in your family, I'm not related :(
I am part Batt!
Lupy...I am an old BAT!! LOL Jo
