DG Family Tree

After following many forums since I joined in May, I am beginning to get the sneaky feeling that a lot of people at DG are related. I am having a lot of trouble keeping straight who is mother to who is aunt to who is cousin to who is son of.......Is there a forum somewhere with a DG family tree so I can figure out all these relationships??? LOL

Well, you are not all wrong! For instance, Jo (Roadrunner) is cousin to about half of the members, and her other relatives make up half of the rest, including her daughter-in-law in Tn. Gardenwife and Howie are married, and GW is the niece of Whiterose and the daughter of Lotusblossom. Sledder is Angelsong's mother. I don't see CoCoseed posting much, but CoCo is her mother.

But sometimes it's just an illusion. We tend to act like a big family sometimes, but not as quarrelsome as my real family. Most of the time.

Just keep watching, you will probably get it all straight. Unless someone will volunteer to do a tree for us.

And I am not related to anyone here..... but Jim (Georgiaredclay) is my twin. LOL We just haven't told his Momma ;~)

Well, Dear, just pick someone you want to adopt you and ask! I asked to be one of Jo's cousins, and doggone if she didn't decide I could. I think I have some other cousins here, too, like GRC and Horseshoe and Tootsie. Hope I didn't leave out any of the distant ones.

I adopted Badseed about 2 years ago. I can always "takein" a few more. lol

I'm sure there are more that we don't know about, but probably not nearly as many 'real' reltives' as it seems, since some of us have made good gardening friends and met each other at Roundups.

TC, I think people are less interested in your bloodlines than your plants!! I have a feeling the more plants you have, the more people would be willing to adopt you....LOL

Whiterose, you are right! RR refers to Mini as her cousin, so it can be confusing. But it's all in the family.

I've often wondered who all are related on here too.
SgtDot and I are sisters. lizh is married to our brother.Roadrunner and Mary K are our first cousins,and Mary K is married to lizh's brother...I'm sure Roadrunner can explain all the other relatives.

Okay who is going to volunteer to make a family tree (by blood and marriage) and an adopted tree (for all those DG'ers who adopted other DG'ers)? I'd offer to do it myself but I'm the one who started this because I can't figure out who is related to who!!! It sure would help me remember if I could see it drawn up somewhere. LOL

Not I! I'm still trying to sort out my many Smith connections. In one little bit of data, I actually found someone mentioned who was kin to Georgiaredclay! From a small parish way up in La. near the Ark. line. Now, with real life connections being that complex, I know I'm not in any better position to keep it straight than a brand new member joining today and speaking a foreign language.

Forgot to mention, I think I am kin to GRC, for real.

Georgiaredcaly....we found each other here on DG...in a thread where we found that we were all traced from the Sister of Daniel Boone branch of the tree.

Then GRC found out that the husband of Mystic was related too....and we let Aimee be a cousin BEFORE we found out she had a drop of the true blood. Since Zanymuse and GRC are twins I claim her too.

I have "adopted" a few on here...including Mystic and Justmelisa, and Badseeds five beautiful daughters and soon to be SIX!!

RR, my head is spinnin'. How do you keep all of this straight? Wouldn't it be fun if someone could take photos of everyone who is related and put them all together like a big family reunion picture? What a riot that would be. I would be sure to remember it then (I'm a visual learner.) Otherwise I figure after ten years on DG following oh, say, 1200 threads a year I might start to get it all worked out. But I've got time. I figure as long as DG and I both exist I will be hanging out here. Maybe I will get adopted myself!!

Smith, you say? I may be related to a DG person after all. So far tonight though I am not to my knowledge. By tomorrow, who knows? giggle

Glad you started this thread NoH2O. I have been here from almost the beginning of DG and I didn't know some of these relationships.

Lets see...Jo is my adopted mom....Kim is my adopted sistah, Horseshoe is my long lost brother from different mothers...Mystic & Jody are my sisters...and MaryE and I were seperated at birth (we were joined at the hip). hee hee

roadrunner; I have a second cousin that's traced us way back to the 1600's. I'll have to find his genealogy website and do some research!

Well, I was born in PA tc, Lewisburg, but now a MD'er and don't believe anyone here would want to call be an actual "relative" LOL - I read the threads above and can't believe ya'll have so many family members, let alone all here on DG LOL!

Born and raised in PA and I LOVE IT!!! By the way tc, I noticed the "ROCK" sticker on that guy's truck. Someone went to Slippery Rock?

SLEDDER; the "ROCK" sticker is on my truck, "OL BLUE" I call her. And yes, I attend Slippery Rock University full time, a sophomore majoring in English Writing BS (Creative).

This is a riot! And to think Louisa used to laugh at me back in 2001 as I jotted down notes in my notebook while chatting. I wanted to keep everyone straight back then, and now I've just about given up! Keep it up, y'all, I'm reading!

I wonder if anyone would possibly (or impossibly?) have (or has already?) the time, patience, and courage(?), to go through all the forum threads here and post a note askin "Hey, are any of y'all related to me?"
