'Twas Daughter's Day here!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

This post is never to old to read again. And I repeat more parents should be like Shoe and his wife. Lucky family.

What a lovely occasion to share. I'm sure Alex tucked that poem in her treasure chest. It will hold a wealth of memories of the happiest of childhoods.

Thanks GW.

heck...I remember that day like it was yesterday. Even I enjoyed re-reading this...what a memory this is! Oh, and by the way, I just noticed Alex marked my calendar here in the Shoffice AND the one on the wall in the house...Daughter's Day 2005 is apparently on July 31st this year.

Ya'll better get your ducks in a row and surprise all your children and grandchildren, eh!? It would be great to start a thread and share our families w/each other, wouldn't it!? Yay!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Shoe you are such a wonderful Dad. You are creating great memories for Alex. Just wait though, Grandchildren are even more special. Sometimes I just wish you could have them first!! LOL

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Did you post a 2004 or 2005 thread about daughter's day, Shoe? What did you do this last year?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

defoecat...I hear ya! If you figger out how to do that please holler!!

GW...just off the top of my head I tthink we had so much going on last year and the women were off on a trip around Daughter's Day that there was no special 'ceremony. I think I took Alex on a shopping trip/day trip, which we both enjoy doing (although I only enjoy it once or twice a year!) (We normally do that during the holiday season.)

When Alex and DW get back from Maine I'll ask what Alex remembers from last year.

As for 2005, it isn't here yet. Will be on Sunday the 31st. Hope ya'll join in and make some daughter/son/grandchild/nephew/neice/cousin etc experience the day!

'Shoe, if you don't end up with the perfectly loved and balanced daughter, it will be no fault of your own!
