We had a young man come yesterday to give us a quote from "Rock and Earth" landscaping. He gave us the most reasonable quote for soooo much work to be done:
eradicating poison ivy (since I can't get anyone to lend me a goat)
re-grading our yard to keep moisture out of our foundation
redirecting water to the middle of the back yard (I'll take pics of what the neighbor has done with his edger that is making the problem)
tearing out the dying pachysandra and replacing it with soil and seeded grass
installing bed edging to keep the English Ivy from becoming our entire lawn in the back
trimming trees
removing unwanted shrubs from back yard so I can have that space for raised VEGGIE BEDS!!!
installing "castle wall" stones to create handsome raised beds in front, ready to receive all my wonderful flowers!
removing U G L Y mugo pines from the front of the house
installing brick pavers up and down both sides of our concrete driveway so there is more room to park/walk
edging our entire yard
creating an herb garden in the back of the house, with stepping stones between the areas where herbs grow, located where I can watch it grow out my window (yayy!)
His quote was so low we both were shocked - it's about 1/2 what we had budgeted for the project which we didn't think could possibly include removing all the unwanted shrubs!!!
We're really excited and he starts MONDAY!
I'll take before and after shots if y'all want to see what is taking place.
:) Thank the Lord for His guidance as to whom to call for quotes!
I'm jumping out of my skin here, so excited!
woo hoooOO!OO
excited!!
Does he have a brother in upstate NY?
*congrats and good for you*
Looking forward to the pictures!
I guess a high unemployment rate can have it's benefits! :-}
That's GREAT, Janie! Can't wait for photos.
george, you are correct about the high unemployment giving us better deals right now. Half the $$ is always better than none.
Janiejoy, so glad you found someone to do what you want and at a reasonable price. Do take and send before and after pictures. You will enjoy seeing it all take place. Donna
Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
