We received the following message at the helpdesk; if you're interested in helping, the following message contains all the instructions you should need. Please note this study is not being undertaken or endorsed by anyone associated with Dave's Garden, so the choice to participate is completely up to each person - I just thought I would post the request in case some members are willing/able to assist them.

[W]e are studying the olive history and to perform this we need oleaster samples from diverse countries and regions. We cannot sample oll the Mediterranean Basin and we should appreciate samples from Islands and forests.

A small branch with 10-15 leaves of each tree in one region is enough and is required with the accurate location of the tree and the name of the person who harvest the sample. We will study DNA from the sample.

Please put the branch in a paper envelop and mail to André Bervillé, INRA UMR-DGPC, Bat 33, 2 Place Viala, France 34060 Montpellier cedex 1
