Don't forget to clean hummingbird feeders

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

With this HOT weather comes fungus growth in the feeder. To keep the little guys healthy try to clean the feeders every couple of days. http://portalproductions.com/h/
The high light of spring is when the hummers make their way back here. I LOVE watching them.

Datdog, I'm with you on watching these little guys. I'm glad I have an understanding boss, as I am frequently late for work during "peak" viewing season. On the weekend mornings and evenings, I can ALWAYS be found sitting on one of my porches, coffee cup in hand, with binoculars and camera by my side.

I was lucky to have a viewable nest this year (in my neighbor's tree, about 10 ft off the ground). On Sunday, I told the baby that I expected it to be a regular visitor at my house. My husband just shook his head at the thought of me talking to the bird. I thought the baby was getting large enough to being close to leaving the nest, and I was right - - it left yesterday.
