It seems to be some kind of Hornworm

Maybe the white-lined sphinx month? That site says the patterns on the cats are variable. Did you only have one on the moonvine? It says they eat a wide variety of plants. Maybe move it out into a weed patch and he'll find something there to devour. Eventually he'll turn into a fascinating moth. ... I know that doesn't help your moonvine out any.

we have some wild morning glories down the road that i took him too. hubby wanted to keep him in a fish tank but i said nope. i just dont want him eating mine. i get spinx mothes each year but never had babies. this thing eats like a horse. hehe thanks everyone Imzadi

i think i have another one around but cant find it. this thing was a mence my poor moonvine is still naked but getting leaves now agian. i got to go protect my tomatoes. thanks Tig for lrtting me know. they cant have those. they touch my brugs they going to heaven is all i can say. lol
